Thanks for your honesty in being sad with Braedan's band- it can be a little

heartbreaking to see your child for the first time wearing a huge hunk of

plastic! But, it does get easier! I burst into tears when I got home and

saw my baby for the first time (privately!)- I was just overcome with

emotion, even though I had prepared for it by looking at pics, etc. I was

just fine with it a few days later, and my sadness turned into anger aimed at

Docs ignoring this problem and not understanding how well this works! And

the fact that this really is so trivial of a problem in the grand scheme of

life. Good luck to you and hang in there- you'll be over the " baby blues "

soon!

Trisha-

He looks so cute and comfy! Now you can have fun decorating!

I swear I think these banded babies are cuter than round headed

babes! Dane's band was such a part of him that I really miss it. I

can't believe I feel this way!

I'm sure I will warm up to it...I have just been so sad...and I cried when they

brought it in the room....and when I was holding him I just felt so hopeless...I

know I have to work through my emotions...but I will...Thanks for responding it

Trisha-

I bet by Thursday, you'll feel a ton better. I think most of us

felt the same way.

Decorate it to match his personality (or yours). That way it will

become an extension of him and you will feel a ton better. We had

so much fun coming up with Dane's decorations. Did you see his

band? If not, check it out in the photos section. There is an

airplane on the front carrying a banner that said " PLACE YOUR AD

HERE " Hey, you could put " CIGNA SUCKS " across it!

Trisha:

Don't worry, you will warm up to it soon. I also had a very

difficult time adjusting to seeing Abby wearing her band. I cried on

& off for the first week or 2 feeling bad for her, although she had

no problem adjusting to it. Soon you'll be thinking Braeden

looks " different " when he's not wearing his band! You'll get used to

it in NO time
