Guest guest
Hello Becky and thanks for asking. Sorry I have not responded sooner. We are in the middle of packing. We are moving to Texas from Oklahoma on Saturday. We saw a specialist, Dr. Fearon, 2 weeks ago in Dallas. He told us he was the one that helped to bring CT to Dallas. He basically said he thought McKenna's head was very mild and there was no reason to put her through getting a helmet. He said it would round out fine and the only thing the DOC band would do would make it happen sooner. We would only be doing it for appearance. He did write me a prescription and a letter of medical neccessity though. Our ped's nurse said the letter looked good. It said basically the only way to fix plagio was with the helmet. CT just sent it to insurance so we will see. I scheduled a consult with them for June 5. I guess if they tell me she doesn't need one, we will let it drop. Her head just looks too flat too me. I guess we will see. and McKenna linda mom to mckenna did I miss it how is Mckenna doing and what is up with the insurance?beckFor more plagio info
Guest guest
Hi : Thanks for the update. That is good news that your specialist considered McKenna's plagio to be mild. But you definitely have to go with your gut on this personal decision, if you feel her head is " too flat " as you said, and would like the DOCband, then go for it! It is great the Dr. wrote you the rx and the letter of med. necessity. I hope insurance will come thru for you. Please keep us updated & let us know how your appt with CT goes next week. Uggg, I don't envy you moving, what a drag! Especially from OK - TX? Yuk! I hate moving 10 miles away! Hope you get settled in soon. Debbie Abby's mom DOCGrad MI > Hello Becky and thanks for asking.
