Difference between DOC and STAR????

My son's craniofacial specialist is urging me to get a STAR Band

locally instead of a DOC Band. The DOC Band costs significantly

more, but other than that, do you guys know of any differences

between the two? He said there is no sense in travelling for

something I can get locally.

My son is documented as being the " most severe case " the cranial

specialist has ever seen. His misshape is due to the fact that he

had a shunt surgically placed to relieve excess fluid on his brain

due to Hydrocephalus. He sleeps on the side that the shunt is NOT

located on because it is more comfortable to him!

Please let me know, as the chat room is open tonight at 11pm my time,

which is too late for me (my son is now three months old, and is just

recently sleeping through the night!)
