Darlene,

I'm so, so sorry to hear about all the stress you have been experiencing. I

really hope that Noah is feeling better. It is very uncommon for babies to be

operated on for plagio - more often the surgery is needed for

craniosynostosis. Has Noah had a CT scan or x-rays to rule out cranio? If not

a visit to the specialist might be a very important thing to do. I can

honestly say that I have never heard of anyone in this group talking about

bumps that get infected like you describe in my 1.5+ years here. I wish I

could refer you to someone who has been through that!

Best wishes to you Darlene. Noah, you and your family will be in my thoughts

and prayers. Please keep us posted and let us know if there is anything we

can do for you.

Darlene,

Glad to hear that Noah's infection is clearing up. Do they feel the helmet

was not working because it created a bump or rash that started the infection?

Is it a locally made helmet? Could it be that the helmet never fit right in

the first place and caused this spiral of problems with his skin? I would

really talk with the orthotist about this and maybe even ask the ped to

conference call with you so that your all on the same wave length for Noah.

My heart goes out to you for all that you've had to go through- but your a

great Mom for doing all this and still keeping up with your son's baseball

games, a day early too! Now that's efficient ;)

Hope things start to smooth out and you can start getting some answers as to

why a surgeon needs to be informed. Let us know what happens and the best of

luck to you all in this trying time!

Darlene,

I'm glad to hear that Noah's head is healing. We don't have our helmet yet. We are waiting to hear from our insurance (which should be any day) and will probably get casted sometime soon after that. I meant to respond to your other post, but didn't get to.

Where did you take Noah? I'm in Connecticut too. We originally were going to go to the Cranialfacial team at Children's Medical Center, but the appointment was just too long for me to wait, so I took him to see Dr. Persing at Yale about a week and a half ago. We will be going to Cranial Technologies in Clinton for a DOC band.

Good luck with everything!

update on Noahs infection of head

Hi everybody, sorry I wasn't able to get back to all of your responces. It's been very busy over here in our house and Noah hasn't been feeling good. I just wanted to up date some of you on whats going on. I also wanted to ask some questions. First of all, Noah is doing better the infection on his head is starting to heal. They have him on some pretty heavy duty antibiotics. Our doctor wants to scrap the helmit idea. We can't believe it!
