Hi 's mom & welcome to our group :)

Noone can guarantee success with bands or helmets. We all wish we

had that crystal ball to look into & see what the future holds. Has

ever had xrays or a CT scan done to rule out craniosynostosis

(premature fusion of the skull bones)? If his sutures are still

open, Cranial Technologies bands children up til 24 mos.. We have

had many members in our group who have banded their child at an older

age. It's likely you would not get full correction, but you could

very possibly get some improvement.

My daughter Abby began her DOCband treatment at 11.5 mos of age, she

wore one band for 4.5 mos time, and we rec'd about 50-60% correction,

which we're very happy with.

What ins. do you have? Many group members insurance denies them, but

many (not all) have won on appeals. On what grounds is ins. denying

you?

Ultimately, the decision to band or not is entirely up to you & your

family. It's defnitely a hard decision to make, I know!

Good luck - please let us know what you decide to do.
