Guest guest
Thank you for inquiring. Things, as you can imagine, have been crazy around here. The casting went quite well, much to my surprise. My Mom was such a trooper. She held the arms and talked to the boys while I held the hips. did great for the front casting, but the second we sat him up, boy oh boy, not a happy camper. Unfortunately, , the CT tech didn't like the way the back cast looked, so we had to redo it. Better then than later. Winn on the other hand, slept through the front casting and would you believe slept right through the back casting. Yes, sitting up. He whimpered once when they took the cast off. I was shocked and obviously relieved. The boys got their helmets last Thursday. I've been trying to develop a new schedule for us. They seem to be okay. Winn is more fussier than usual, but I think it's because he is cutting teeth. thank goodness is handling it quite well. As far as the exercises go, they both scream their heads off. Hopefully, we will get better at it in the days to come. Lilly has been handling it quite well. After I do the exercises, she tries to do it herself. It's very cute, but scares me to death. As for me, well, need I tell you. It's mentally and physically exhausting. Trying to develop this new schedule, will either make me stronger or have me committed. It's still a toss up. I think I figured it out. If I start with feeding Lilly at 5:15 pm and get her in the bath by 6:00 pm, then feed the boys, read her a book and get her to bed, then clean the helmets, then do the exercises, then give them their baths, then let their hair dry - I could be done by 8:00 pm. At least it worked last night. So there is hope. The only thing was, I didn't cook dinner for Ray and I, I just plum forgot. Thank goodness for leftovers and frozen prepared food. We go back tomorrow for their first follow up visit. told us not to get the helmets wet. So no pool time. I just wonder how hot they will get sitting in the shade with their helmets on. It's been 80+ degrees here. I''m taking them out for brief period of times during the day, mostly in the a.m. before it gets too hot. I'm nervous about taking them out in the afternoon, because of the dehydration factor. Well, Lilly will be up soon, so I need to get her breakfast ready. Sorry I haven't been in touch. Again, thanks a million for your concern. Bonnie (mom to , Winn & Lilly)
Guest guest
Bonnie, I'm so dizzy just reading your post, I don't know how you can stay afloat in that whirlwind you've got going on ) You sound like a true superwoman! I can relate to a third of what your doing, I only have one kid! And I hear you, the stretches were so exhausting!! Sounds like you've got a great schedule going- just down burn yourself out!!!! Frozen dinners, take-out, pizza, all still great food for a healthy family while Mom gets down to business and works those neck muscles! I can remember being so physically, mentally and emotionally exhausted by 10:00 pm- after all that good stuff you know about and would just want to drop! But, the importance of the stretches kept me going and I knew that one day, my life would be back to semi-normal! It took about 7-8 months to get to that point, although we still work with ' posture and do some passive stretches for his tort to this day. But it is not the daily grind it once was- and you too will be rewarded for all of your hard work! Your a great mom to continue to endure, and I sincerely hope that soon you can kick your feet up and admire your efforts! Keep up the great work! Please keep us posted! Good luck! We have an understanding that he fends for himself as far as dinner is concerned! Dane is allergic to soy, milk, peanuts and chocolate. Since I am breastfeeding and have to avoid all that, I refuse to make anything containing any of it and he won't eat anything I can! Besides that I am an awful cook. I am not the best housewife (I hate that word!). Don't forget to take care our yourself too! Quite often at the end of the day, I realize all I have eaten is some toast! Glad to hear the casting was such a " breeze " for you! Dane's mom DOC Grad
Guest guest
Oh Bonnie, I can sooo relate to you right now. I didn't think I would ever be able to get through the routine of bathing, feeding, cleaning, dressing and stretching. How old is Lilly? My little wanted to be stretched after Sam and Sara, so we did some pretend stretching with her as well. She always wanted to take the headbands on and off, and sometimes I think the babies got a little whiplash, but it was so important for to feel special amidst all the extra treatment for Sam and Sara. And I'll be the first to admit that we "drove through" more often than not, and somehow I managed to not put on any extra pounds. Now let me show you the light at the end of the tunnel...you are so busy now that before you realize it you will be done with the headbands and soon find out that you have become even more efficient than you already are. We have been out of bands for a week now, and I am amazed at how fast the bath routine goes and I actually have time to get caught up on some things that have been neglected for a while - like . You definitely sound like you are up to your challenge. Keep it up - you'll love those round little heads that are on the way. Guest guest
Bonnie: Thanks so much for the update. My gosh, you sure do have your hands MORE than full with 3 youngens . Sounds like you are handling things very well, I don't think I could do it! I cannot believe Winn actually slept thru the casting? Oh how nice! What a relief for you. Sounds like was a typically angry casted baby! Things sound like they are going smooth right now though! Your boys' heads are rounding as we speak. Please be sure you keep us updated, that is when you find time to get on the computer (you might want to eat first though, hehe!). Thanks Debbie Abby's mom DOCGrad MI > Thank you for inquiring.
