Hi Gail,

Our ortho told us that correction will sometimes continue after banding

because the head has been " encouraged " to grow in a certain direction and

will often continue to do so. As the skull thickens and lays down more bone

some additional correction might occur. Unless I am totally imagining it,

has experienced some continued improvement although it has been slight.

(she is 28 months old now, finished her band when she was 15 1/2 months old)

On a side note, my dad told me he saw a news story on the CBS national news

yesterday about plagio. I said, " DID THEY SHOW A PAIR OF TWINS!!!! " He said

yes so I'm positive he must have seen the bit they did on Sam and Sara. He

said the story was excellent and right on the money. I'm sure sorry I missed

it! :-(

Hi Gail,

The million dollar question!!! graduated when he was 8 months old,

and I feel that we have seen some additional correction- but just like

before- you wonder, am I seeing things? I honestly feel that there is a

slight bit more of rounding and his ear moved up some more after banding- but

again- not sure- we're probably talking milli-millimeters!!! He is now 1

year and almost 4 months, we certainly have not seen regression, and the

facial asymmetry did not come back after it was gone. Don't know if this

helps, but it may keep you from obsessing!

I'm sorry I missed it too!!! I wish the local station had some way of finding out when and where the story was going to air!!! Come on - this is 2002.
