Guest guest
- Your daughter and my son have very similar cases. He had breathing problems due to reflux and they NICU staff sepcifically told us to hold or lay him on his right side. He developed positional tort and plagio as a result. His face looked very much like your daughter's. He wore a DOC Band from 5- 8 months. His ear and facial asymmetry are gone, thanks to the DOC Band. Good luck. I can't imagine schlepping 5 kids around! Wow! Guest guest
My son was born with an asymmetrical headshape and quite significant facial asymmetry with one cheek and one ear much further forward due to breech birth. He started treatment at the CT in NJ at 9.5 months. He just graduated from his second band at 17 months. His facial and ear asymmetry are almost nonexistent. I'm sure I am the only one who can see it if I really, really look for it. Charlotte is terrific at the NJ office. Guest guest
Hi, I think your daughter is beautiful!! What a cutie. My inital reaction when seeing the pic was..I can't see any facial assymetry. Your daughter may have mild facial assymetry but definately nothing the general population can notice. Hope that helps! Guest guest
Hi & welcome to our group Your daughter is TOO cute! What a cute little picture, I guess she wasn't in a smiling mood huh? LOL, so serious! Pretty blue eyes, pretty earrings . I am happy to read that her torticollis has been resolved & she now has full ROM! YAY. That's a huge accomplishment. As for her facial assymetry, I noticed some, but it doesn't look too severe. I wouldn't have noticed it had you not pointed it out. My daughter began her DOCband at 11.5 mos - 15.5 mos of age with severe plagio & some assymetries as well. The DOCband defintiely improved her assymetries along with the flatness she had. I don't know why so many Drs & specialists are so opposed to this treatment & say it doesn't work!!! GRRRRR!! TRUST me, these bands DO work. Whether or not you do get a band, that's entirely your decision. It sounds like you have your hands full with 5 kids? I'm sure you are a busy woman . I am happy that you've already been in touch with Carol E. from CT. Maybe you could schedule a consultation with CT in NJ to see what they suggest looking at your daughter? Do you have any more pics that we could look at? Welcome again to our group. Pleaes keep us updated on your decision.
