Guest guest
Hi , Welcome to the group! I think Debbie gave you some really great info on the helmets, and I would agree that the helmet should not be coming on and off so hard. I would call the ortho asap and get a fitting, usually the first two weeks is the fine tuning of the helmet/band and many or few adjustments may need to be made, depending on each child. The fact that she is continually crying would make me concerned about the tightness of the fit, and I personally would not keep it on her until you talked with or saw your ortho about it. It's important that treatment begins, but its equally important to keep your child as comfortable as possible- especially so she won't just totally hate it when it is fixed! Let us know what your ortho says! ' Mom
Guest guest
Hello and welcome. What kind of band is Sydney wearing? It is MUCH more common for babies to adapt rather quickly to the band then to be upset and cry a lot about it so I think that is a reason for concern. Of course, every baby is different. Also, the fact that it seems tight is an even bigger concern. When the baby first gets the band it should seem, if anything, a little too loose. If it seems too tight then and adjustment is need ASAP. An ill-fitting band can do more harm then good, so check in with the ortho right away and express your concerns. I'm so sorry to hear that Sydney is unhappy - that has to be making the whole experience just so much more difficult. Hang in there - if the ortho can get that band fitting right the road should be a whole lot smoother. Marci (Mom to ) Oklahoma
Guest guest
Well, it's encouraging that the red spots are fading so quickly. That is a good sign. Still, if you have concerns about her mood while wearing the band or the tightness when taking it off and on then checking in with the ortho is still a good idea.
