Because we are seeing the specialist next week for another opinion

before we go ahead with CT, I went by Children's Mercy to pick up a

copy of his skull xrays and the radiologist's report. The report

states " There is flattening of the posterior aspect of the skull on

the right. Sutures appear to be normal. Impression: There is no

evidence of craniosynostosis. " Here's the weird thing: His flat side

is the LEFT side...I guess I'll wait to see what the specialist says

about the xrays...but I don't understand this??? His flattening is

on the left side, really directly on the left side, directly behind

the ear...not so much back at the corner of his head....but, now that

I look at it there is some tiny bit of flattening on the back corner

of his right side...oh gosh this is confusing...but, I'll tell you

the MAJOR, very OBVIOUS flattening is on the left...confusing it

wasn't mentioned on this report?

Interesting :

I can see why you are confused. Give them a call to find out. I'm

guessing it was an error on their part saying Right when it's really

the Left side.....Let's all hope the radiologist knows his right from

his left, yikes!

Otherwise, it sounds like good news that Grant does not have cranio!

Hmmm, very strange - hopefully the specialist can shed some light on that.

Make sure to ask him/her directly about that.

Hmm, I wonder if they were holding the x-rays backwards. ;o) I

would think that it is just an innocent slip-up, but be sure to

mention it to the specialist. Good luck at your appointment!

That is strange that they didn't even mention the obvious flattening where

you have already spotted it. I was surprised at the different areas of

flattening that had once he was casted, because I honestly only

noticed the right side, but they showed me several areas on the top left that

I never would have noticed. Maybe this just pointed out areas that aren't as

noticeable, but to overlook the obvious area, leaves big question marks about

the reading from the radiologist. Ask your Doctor to spell out for you

what's up!

Yes, I think I'll just wait and see what the specialist makes of the xrays on Tuesday. The really funny (scary) part is that the xrays are labeled on each side with an L and R...he he.. My husband and I really got a kick seeing all of Grant's teeth in the xray, though. He has only cut 2 teeth (his two front bottom teeth), but it is cool how you can see all of the teeth in the xray!

Yes! The hospital apparently can reproduce the xrays. They told me NOT to return them...I guess they worry they'll get mixed up with the originals? So, I have these xrays to keep I guess. bbbhand@... wrote: Wow that is cool that you get to see all of his teeth in there-do you get to keep the x-rays for yourself?BeckFor more plagio info
