We got Dane's band on a Thursday and he didn't start wearing it for

24 hours until Sunday. His body temperature needed some time to

adjust. If we left it on all night for the first couple of nights,

he would have sweated his head off! This is what was suggested to

us. Are you wiping her head down often?

Dane's eye did the same thing. We just had trim it above the

eye and it was fine.

Good luck!

Hi poor :(

Gosh, how frustrating for you right now :(. Mackenzie is such a

beautiful little girl, I'm sure you just want her to be happy too!

As for the shifting, shifting of the DOCband for the first week or

two even, is very common in the beginning. I remember on the way

home from Chicago after Abby got her DOCband, I looked at her in the

backseat & the band was quite shifted on her head. This was like

this for about 10 days, then she filled into it some! It is more

likely to shift when pressed up against something, like how she was

in the high chair or carseat. Mackenzie is very young, so I " m sure

if she'll let you keep the band on her for periods of time, she'll

grow into it very soon. Shifting bands in the beginning of treatment

is a common question to the board.

As for her swollen eye, like 's reply, did you mean her right

eye? I noticed it did look a bit bigger than her left (beautiful

blue eyes BTW!). She might be in need of a trim above the eye area

there. While Abby was in her STARband, it pushed down on her eye

frequently & caused her to have a " squinty " appearance, until her

orthotist trimmed the area, then all was fine.

As for sleeping, IF Mackenzie is that miserable & upset, I would

probably slowly work her into it. I give you loads of credit for

being so strong & keeping it on her last night. It is important to

have it on 23 hrs a day, esp. at night, but maybe she needs to ease

into it a bit more? Maybe take it off the 3rd time she wakes up with

it on?? I dunno what really to suggest about that! I know how

important it is for the full 23 hrs a day, BUT I also know how hard

it is to have your baby screaming & upset :(. You're in a lose lose

situation.

Have you been in touch with Margie at CT yet this morning??? Let us

know if so.

Good luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi, . I have absolutely no advice, and am actually a little

concerned myself as we are going to get 's DOC Band this

afternoon--and then leaving tomorrow for my in-law's house for 3 days!

(Nowhere near a CT clinic.) But I just wanted to say that Mackenzie

is absolutely adorable! She looks SO cute in her band! How did you

decorate her band? It looks great!
