Beck~ Yes I am finally back after a month without a computer. Our hard drive crashed, but hopefully now all is fixed! Things are going well Grace is out of her helmet. We went for our final visit with the orthotist and he says everything is great and that she looks good. As I posted earlier I am forever critical of her head and asymetry etc. Last night I got some videos out of her to look at her head before and after and I know that it is so much improved and that nobodys head is perfect nor are their facial features perfectly lined up etc etc. Also I am now in that panic state that the plagio will come back. She still sleeps on her back at night or for naps but she spends most of the day off her head sitting up and playing or in her highchair playing or rolling around and lying on her stomach. It is just a constant worry for me. And then my husband freaked me out tonight, usually he is the one who is so positive, by saying that he is worried that it could happen again. UGH! That wasn't what I wanted to hear he is supposed to be the rock! ha ha So I am so comforted to get back here with everyone for advice and support :) Other then that the PT is going well. He thinks that she will need 3 or 4 more visits and that she will be in good shape. We have done taping and have a tot collar as well. And most of the time we hardly notice a tilt. What a little trooper she is!! Hope you are doing well (I am sure you are sorry you asked how things were obviously I have much to say after being computerless for a month!!)

~ So good to be back. In some ways this seems like it has been such a long journey and in other ways it seems to have gone by so quickly. Especially when I look at video of Grace from Jan. when she started with her helmet and PT and I look at her now. No one would ever know that she had, had a problem. She rolls and plays and sits with her little head so straight. I know there will still be hurdles for us but things are going so well and we will never give up!!

Hi ,

Glad to hear that Grace is a graduate. I know what you mean about questioning

the head shape constantly. has been out of her helmet for 10 months now

and I am just now beginning to give up the daily scrutinizing of her poor

little head! Now I pretty much scrutinize every other baby head that goes by

me!! LOL! It gets easier and better with time. Glad to have you back!

Marci~ Good to hear that it is normal to to that. I hope that eventually I will give it up and know that we have done the best that we could do and have gotten all the help that is available for her. All people ever say is how beautiful she is, even when she had the helmet on rarely did anybody mention it. They could only talk about what a beautiful little girl she is! I think that once she gets more hair and I can't see her little head it will out of sight out of mind. But right now she just has some peach fuzz still so I look at that little bald head 24/7 and scrutinize it from every angle :) As I said before I am just glad she is too little to know what I am looking at or for sure she would have a complex by now. I have been reading all of these posts on lumps and I know that Grace has some lumps along the back of her head that appeared after she started wearing the helmet. Our orthotist said that they were normal and that they would go away eventually after her head continued to round once the helmet was off?? We asked him about them every visit. He even had a name for them which I now can't remember? She also ended up with a lump above each ear that he said was normal and would round out as the head grew without the helmet. I just hope that he was right????
