I'm new and need advise! I'm sorry this is so long.

I guess I'll start but giving everybody my daughters back ground.

When she was born she was put in the NICU because she had breathing problems and was put on a respirator.They always laid her on her right side. (I only noticed that when I went back and looked at all the pics I took of her when she was in there)About a month after she came home I noticed that her head was always tilted in the same position. I took her to the doc who said "it's not what you think it is". I took her to another doc who said"it's not the condition that you think it is". I knew that something wasn't right, the right side of her head was getting flatter by the day or so it seemed. I took her to another doctor who FINALLY said she had torticollis. She only had 15-20% range of motion when she started PT. She went to PT twice a week for 3 months(We did ALOT of streching excecises at home and repositioning) and now has 100% range of motion. Her head has rounded out some since the PT. But it's still somewhat flat behind her right ear, it's more noticable when her hair is wet. Her ears are misaligned, her right ear is more forward then her left and at times her right eye is bigger then her left.Her forehead bulges too.The last time (9mth well baby) she had her head measured and she was in the 91st percentile.Her pedy ordered a CT scan and referred me to a neurosurgeon. Craino and fluid were both ruled out. The ns I took her too said her head is perfect and not to worry about the facial asymmetry,everybody has it. He was totally anti-treatment.He told me about a study that was done on a group of kids, all with plagio. Half of them were treated with helmets and the other half weren't, 6 months later the helmet kids had rounder heads.They went back 4 1/2 years later and the helmet kids heads were flat again. So I took her for a second opinion yesterday to a plagio friendly doctor who told me that

"there is a mild-moderate degree of right occipital flattening with a mild-moderate degree of shearing of the right ear". But that she didn't need a helmet because it has rounded out since the tort was resolved. I told him that I'm not really all that concerned about her head I'm more concerned about the facial asymmetry. He said a helmet wouldn't help with the facial asymmetry. (He uses Hanger) I knew from my research of the doc band and my reading of all your posts that it does correct facial asymmetry. I emailed Carol from CT (wow what a great lady, very helpful.)with a picture of my daughter attached. I called her and she said from the picture it looks like my daughter would be a canidate for the doc band. I have an appointment with CT on Thursday the 13th for a consult. I have to go to NJ and I live in NY, on Long Island) My question to all of you is: Did banding your children really help the facial asymmetry? I'd hate to have to travel to NJ twice a month with 5 kids, if it's not going to help the facial asymmetry. If it will correct the facial asymmetry I'd be willing to drive there everyday if need be. is already 10 months old. I'm going to attach a picture of her. She just got done eating she was sitting so still that I just snapped a pic, dirty face and all.You can really see the facial asymmetry in this pic. Please let me know if you can see it and if so would you consider the doc band if she were your child.
