Hi Everyone

Hope all of you are well - I see that there are some new Australian

members with the group - I wish you all the best of luck with

treatment. Well now to update you all - sorry this may be a bit long

Skye is now 16 mths old and still not standing up alone or walking

and she also has no speech other than babble. She has seen an ENT

surgeon and they are booking her in for surgery as she has no middle

ear function. The surgeon said this more than likely has to do with

the shape of her head. She is also seeing the Speech and OT - and

have also been referred to the Physiotherapists for further

assessment. Other than that she is just fine and as gorgeous as ever

if not more so.

We have been so busy since was diagnosed with a form of Autism

that I have not had time to update you all - but he is doing OK aswell

He is in a Special Education Class and coping much better.

I will let you know more about Skye when I know more but i am getting

frustated at the fact that she is not walking yet and is still not

eating " lumpy food " time will tell. Her head is still rather flat on

the back right side and we have been told that it will get NO better

than it is now. So pigtails will not be an option when she is older

as they make her head shape more noticable.

I hope you are all well and give your babies a hug for me

Talk again soon

Kind Regards

nna:

Sounds like things are a bit tough for you & the family right now.

Sorry to hear about Skye's delays and the possibility of surgery.

Hopefully though, the surgery will correct her ear function which

will likely improve her speech as well as her balance too maybe? I

have no doubt sweet Skye is getting prettier by the day! Soon you'll

be chasing her everywhere :)

I am also very sorry to read about 's autism :(. How old is

he? My co-worker's 3.5 yr old son was diagnosed with autism about

one month ago. She is devastated. Her son will also begin special

education classes in the fall that she hopes will help. He doesn't

speak at all, doesn't interact with others, no " imaginary " play,

bounces everywhere, has terrible fits and is nowhere near being potty

trained.

It sounds like you have your hands full right now but are handling it

all remarkably well! You're a great mom. & Skye are very

lucky to have you. Please keep us updated on both children as well

as yourself! Hugs :)

nna,

It is so good to hear from you again! It sounds like you have been

kept very busy lately. I'm sorry to hear that Skye will need

surgery, you'll have to let us know when its scheduled. Its amazing

how the insurance industry considers this as a purely cosmetic issue,

when it is clearly so much more.

I'm glad to hear that is doing so well in his classes. I

remember the last time we chatted, he was still in regular school,

he'll really benefit from his new environment.

Keep in touch nna, your family is in my thoughts.
