Guest guest
Well, I see that Tommy is the baby of the month so I suppose I should give a little history! Tommy is a fraternal twin. He and his brother were born Dec. 3rd, 2000. Tommy was stuck in the birth canal for about 2 months before birth so he was " doomed " from the start. I asked his ped. at his 3- month checkup about Tommy's tendency to always tilt his head to the right and he told me it was because I always slept Tommy on his R. side (I actually slept him on his left). About a month later, in response to my in-laws nagging (embarrassing, isn't it?), I asked the ped about Tommy's flat spot, which was pretty bad, but I thought it was normal. The ped, who a month before tossed off Tommy's tort as coincidence, took another look and immediately wrote a prescription for the DOC band, which fortunately was made in Burbank, only a 45- min drive from Ventura, where we lived at the time. Tommy was in his band in May and out by October. His plagio was classified as severe and to this day he still has facial assymetry and a bit of a tilt, which his therapist classified as " Tommy being pigheaded " . Unlike about 90% of our members here, my BCBS paid the full $3700 amount of the DOC band without a hitch. Although he is 18 months old now, he is still not walking, again because he is pigheaded. He goes about like a little chimpanzee and he is faster on hands and feet than his twin is running on two. Anyhow, he is extremely bright and the other day he shocked me by pulling up onto the couch and announcing " one two free four five " before taking off in another direction. Guest guest
Jill: What a wonderful baby your Tommy sounds like! How much fun (and work!) it must be to have twins! And now for #3 - very exciting! Thanks for Tommy's story. , Rhiannon's mom DOC band started 5-31-02 and it's going well. > Well, I see that Tommy is the baby of the month so I suppose I should > give a little history! > Tommy is a fraternal twin.
