Treating Toddlers

Hi,

I have a 19 month old toddler boy named Luke. We had noticed

at 2 months that his head shape was a little odd. But, our

pediatrician said for me not to worry that it would go away. Then

at 6 months and 12 months I brought it up again, only to be told

the same thing. It is only because of an article I read on the topic

that I have become aware that most cases do not correct

themselves without proper treatment. Of course I am alarmed

and very concerned. I have done lots of research on the internet

and seen the photos. My son's head is definitely not a mild

case.

Fortunately, I have found a clinic near me which deals with the

DOC band. I've been in touch with the doctor and will go for a

consultation soon. However, before we make any decisions I

wanted to speak with othr parents who have gone through this

with a older child ( as I know that the results are not as

successful as with younger babies).

I would like to know the following:

1. What age did you treat your child and how successful was it?

2. Was it uncomfortable for your child?

3. How long was the treatment?

4.Have you noticed any delays with your child in developement?

5.Was it uncomfortable dealing with the " looks " from other

people?

I greatly appreciate any response form anyone who has dealt

with this. It is a big decison for us and we so want to do the right

thing.

Thank you so much,

tte
