I understand that you are extremely busy , so it means that much more to me for you to lend an ear. As Congressmen in the State of Florida, you know all too well that mold is a widespread problem, especially after the hurricanes of 2004. Unfortunately, the truth about the dangers of exposure to this health threat is vastly understated. Thousands of people all over the country have suffered the health effects of toxin-producing fungi and bacteria. To add insult to injury, most of these patients have no help from our government, the insurance companies and, as I regret to say, the healthcare industry. Well-respected establishments such as the CDC and the NIH have refused to accept what we have discovered first hand: that mold and mycotoxins can have serious health effects including, but not limited to, asthma, immunosuppression, neurological damage and rheuomatological problems. I am asking your help and input as to what we can do to raise awareness and acceptance of this illness. Contacting well-researched physicians in this area to conduct grand rounds or organizing some sort of CME presentation are two ideas that come to mind. I have contacted Congressman Bill ’s office and have offered information and research on this public health threat. Please let me know what you think would be the best avenue to take. Any advice or input would be greatly appreciated. Sincerely, Murtaugh --------------------------------- Music Unlimited - Access over 1 million songs. Try it free.
