Time honored Southern recipe would go something like this: 3 lbs of greens, rinsed and coarsely cut 8 cups water 1 1/2 teasp salt 1smoked hamhock or 2oz bacon or fatback 1chopped onion 1/ 2 teaspoon red pepper flakes , or tobasco 2teaspoon sugar Simmer 1hr 15 mins or til tender Strain, serve with vinegar or hot sauce of choice The liquid is good to drink too Hoppin good side dish Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
