Guest guest
My allergist determined it through a visual check of my sinuses combined with an extensive medical history, which they have all their new patients fill out. As I understand it, it is a difficult and tedius process to culture fungal material from the sinus. Maybe some do it, sometimes there may be elusive bacterial stuff going on too. In the Mayo report, they noticed the fungi existed in both groups of people (those with symptoms and those without), but that the fungi in those with symptoms had a " ring " like structure around them, and it is postulated that that may be due to the body's immune system reacting to it. I think I learned that from a newspaper article summarizing the Mayo's results on the subject. > > HellO; > > Can someone please share with me what types of testing > is done by a ENT dr to determine a fungal sinus > infection. > > thank you > > king > > > > > __________________________________ > - PC Magazine Editors' Choice 2005 > http://mail. >
