Guest guest
My doc pulled me out of work because I had a similar attack, I had passed out cold. My Blood pressure was real low and potassium level after getting blood work up was really low also. He put me on " Slow K " a prescription to get my potassium up but I still have dizzy spells but not like that time. Did you get blood tests done? Or blood pressure tested? > > > > > > Friday when I was leaving work I got really dizzy felt drunk. I > > drove home even though I probably shouldn't have. Guest guest
Had allergy test done. allergic to mold and dust etc... I asked the nurse if they checked for mycotoxins by blood test and she said I would have to ask the Dr. I think she thought I was crazy. He told me I have asthma and prescribed steroids for my nose and chest. I told him about my work conditions, but he basically told me he could medicate me and the mold was not as serious as the internet makes it out to be that it was just an irritant. It was since then I had the shaking and a couple really bad breathing episodes asthma attacks. of course i am breathing ok now since i made an appt for tomorrow. I feel like they will probably blow me off...i hope he will decide to do a blood test. > > > > > > > > Friday when I was leaving work I got really dizzy felt drunk. > I > > > drove home even though I probably shouldn't have. Guest guest
Ask to see if he will check blood test results and ask about " K " level potassium. You can check through your chart to see if your Blood pressure has dropped from before you had your attack. That's what my doc did. I never had allergy tests yet. My doc is quite sure it is mold causing my illnesses. Especially after I told him about the sewer backups and sewer smell coming out of the vents at work. GHe also has other patients that work there. Take care, SW > > > > > > > > > > Friday when I was leaving work I got really dizzy felt > drunk. > > I > > > > drove home even though I probably shouldn't have. Guest guest
, Do you hands and feet tingle when you take in a deep breath? This was the other thing I have noticed. I felt like I was going crazy till I started reading some of the things on this post... Hope you feel better. Are you still in the moldy environment, or did you say your Dr. told you not to go back? thanks for the replies, Laurie --------------------------------- Music Unlimited - Access over 1 million songs. Guest guest
Actually, when I take in a deep breath I start a massive coughing fit so I really can't tell whether my hands tingle or not. I am just trying to catch my breath at that point. But in the past, I did have tremors and tingling of my hands and feet/legs at work(like they went to sleep). I am no longer at the workplace, off on sick leave since end of august and doubt that I will be going back. There are so many off sick with the same symptoms that it isn't funny. One was told that she has MS now. (Mold toxins can cause symptoms of MS). WE are still waiting for Government testing results to prove mold is making us all sick. Just when I started working there back last year, I did have bad numbness in my left arm and hand, it was totally useless for months (no grip strength), right arm was weak but not as bad, could still one hand type LOL. > > , Do you hands and feet tingle when you take in a deep breath? Guest guest
Hi, I have also had symptoms like you. I have asthma (but not for several months, since my antifungal treatment), food allergies, etc etc. I am curious as to what kind of treatment your allergist has put you on besides steroids. Steroids may be the worst thing for a mold illness, according to many people, but don't just stop them all at once on my say so, that can be very dangerous, they can be addicting, and stopping them requires tapering down the doses so the body can gradually adjust. At least that is for the oral doses, not the inhaler types, I don't know about those. Most allergist have no idea what a mold illness is. Your doctor sounds like he really doesn't know the first thing about it. Don't believe him- they make stuff up when they don't know. A competent environmental allergist might have the training- mine does, and he has given me a lot of help. Sinusitis is caused 98% of the time by fungus infections, according to studies done by Mayo Clinic. The treatment is antifungals, and avoidance. I have been treated for months now, and got much better, but I have also been finding more mold hidden in my house, which has caused anomalous reactions to my antigens, and it has retarded my healing, puzzling the drs. I think I have all the structural mold out now, I am waiting for the paint to cure, as I also have developed chemical allergies, or sensitivities. Hopefully I will be able to tell soon. Anyway, the point I am trying to make, is that as long as you continue to be exposed, you will continue to get worse. Dr Shoemaker seems to have some medicine that helps binds up the toxins that cause the symptoms, allowing some people to continue working in a contaminated environment while they search for another job. He sounds like the guy for you. He doesn't really work along the allergy line at all, but gets very good results. I found an allergist closer to home. He doesn't work from the toxicological view, but I am getting help in a major way. He was the one that told me about my mold infection, and is treating me for it. It should be gone by now, but for the continued exposure. > > > > > > > > > > Friday when I was leaving work I got really dizzy felt > drunk. > > I > > > > drove home even though I probably shouldn't have.
