Guest guest
Is anyone out there dealing with an older adult with Downs? I have been the medical POA for my 57-year-old aunt with DS for five years. She has been having increasing difficulty with dementia, depression, and behavior problems in the past 2 years. I am going through the legal process to become her official guardian in order to move her into a living situation that is more suitable for her needs. She is currently in a four-woman group home and attends a day program for developmentally delayed seniors. She is in the Minneapolis area. I would be very interested to talk to someone who is going through, or has gone through, some of what we're dealing with. I want to make sure we do what's best for her and would like to hear what kind of experiences others have had. Thanks, --northern Wisconsin
