Guest guest
I see no reason to believe your daughter can’t do it. Our son Zacky, who is bilingual Italian-English, started French in first year middle school this year. He loves it and has done well at learning simple phrases. So go for it. Learning a language should be fun and it sounds like she wants to do it so I imagine she will do very well. OK, next question about high school... is h*ll bent on taking French next year. Seriously. She's always been a good mimic (as many of our kiddos are) and language is one of her strengths, particularly decoding, which she apparently does at grade level (as per the RSP, didn't see any real data.) So, has anyone's teen/young adult with DS ever studied another language? She's learned the few words her big sister taught her, and repeats and remembers pretty well, but of course, this is all in fun,and not all the other stuff that goes along with learning a language.
