Guest guest
I thought because my daughter's mercury level was low that she did not have enough mercury in her. NoBody should have any mercury in them. Mercury also does not have to show up in the blood in binds to tissue inside of you. I learned this from e mailing two doctors. I wish I had their e mail's address but I didn't want to constantly bother them either. Do the challenge it might not come out the first time or the second. Watch for regressions and follow a good doctor's instructions. One that knows the DAN protocol or is a DAN doctor. My daughter's doctor has a child with autism too. Guest guest
Here! Let me throw the book at you. http://www.noamalgam.com/hairtestbook.html Question A reviewer from amazon.com posed the following question:Will Redmond's hair is reported as being "loaded" with mercury, and hismother uses this as proof that he is mercury poisoned, but then ahundred or so pages later the two doctors doing hair analysis ofautistic patients surmise that these patients will have LOW levels ofmercury in their hair because autistic kids--according to the mercurybuildup causes autism theory--are inefficient mercury excreters. Huh?I've never understood this either. Can someone explain?

Guest guest
When a child is not being chelated for heavy metals, they can typically show little or no mercury levels in their hair. DURING CHELATION, however, the hair levels (and stool levels) will increase dramatically and serve as an indicator that the child was mercury toxic. The reviewer must have misunderstood the context of Lyn Redwood's testimony in the book...that Will Redwood showed high levels of mercury in his hair would be during chelation. Earlier toxicology tests would show lower levels. The differences in the tests are a testimony to chelation...and an indication that there was hidden mercury in the child. http://www.autismmedia.org/ > A reviewer from amazon.com posed the following question: > > Will Redmond's hair is reported as being " loaded " with mercury, and his > mother uses this as proof that he is mercury poisoned, but then a > hundred or so pages later the two doctors doing hair analysis of > autistic patients surmise that these patients will have LOW levels of > mercury in their hair because autistic kids--according to the mercury > buildup causes autism theory--are inefficient mercury excreters. Guest guest
If you do a " search inside " you can find words in the book on the Amazon.com site. I put " hair " in the search box and found page 66. Lyn Redwood sent off her son's first hair cut hair to a lab. She had the baby's hair cut when he was 20 months old and saved it and sent it off to the lab when he was 4 or 5 years old. She wasn't chelating him then, I think. I mean the book says she started to chelate him after that lab test came back, some time after. I think mnkygrl's question is still a good one. -- In EOHarm , " quantumerik " <erik@a...> wrote: > When a child is not being chelated for heavy metals, they can typically show little or no > mercury levels in their hair. > > DURING CHELATION, however, the hair levels (and stool levels) will increase dramatically > and serve as an indicator that the child was mercury toxic. > > The reviewer must have misunderstood the context of Lyn Redwood's testimony in the > book...that Will Redwood showed high levels of mercury in his hair would be during > chelation. Guest guest
Just a thought, but perhaps Will was able to detox himself after the first or second set of shots, but the cumulative effect of all the shots was too much for his body to handle. That would seem to fit with Dr. Walsh (Pfieffer) that an insult to the system shuts the detox system down. I use hygrogen peroxide to gargle and it helps also colloidal silver to keep down what feels like low grade infections. I am going to try the ozone to see if it helps kill infections? Guest guest
Hi Saul, When I use echinacea and goldenseal together, the effect is excellent. Either alone seems marginal. ANy idea why? Guest guest
there was a thread going about this a little while ago- all i can imagine is that something THAT restrictive is just going to end in her giving up after a few weeks (2-3 max) and any changes will just be in water weight which will come pouring back on. in most of the infomertials i've seen about that program, in little white letters at the bottom it ALWAYS says " results not typical/results acheived with continued use " . *~sarah Question Does anyone have any opinions (good, bad, etc) on the Thurmond 6 week Body makeover...I have been living the BFL lifestyle for over a year (lost and maintained, not super buff, but satisfied) but my " mother in law " has around umm, maybe 60-70 lbs to lose and is just starting that program...i read over it and it was quite restrictive, absolutely no dairy, no simple carbs (of course) but you can eat white sticky rice??? the exercise frowns upon intense training and says 45 minutes at target heart rate is the best (of walking, while focusing seriously on breathing patterns and sculpting with a body band??? the program says high intensity work outs burn sugar not fat?? ugh any inputs on this program? should i get her on BFL stat?? Guest guest
Thurmond is very old-school when it comes to the cardio thing. The " don't exert yourself or you'll burn sugar not fat " theory was disproved back when dinosaurs still roamed the earth. It makes me wonder what kind of continuing education he's had lately... or if he even bothers with that kind of thing... or if he's even certified... You guys probably already know the story with cardio. At low intensities, a greater percentage of your calorie burn comes from stored fat than from stored carbohydrate (sugar), but if you turn up the intensity and really push yourself, you burn more fat and calories overall AND your metabolism stays elevated for hours afterward. It's wacky to think that walking burns more fat than running stadium stairs. I've seen Thurmond on Extreme Makeover basically telling an audience of millions not to break a sweat or breathe hard. It makes me want to chuck my remote at the television. I also roll my eyes whenever he gets his little bands out, pokes people's fat, and starts talking to them about " toning problem areas. " Like working that muscle with that little band is going to do diddly-hoo about all the fat that's still covering it. No such thing as spot reducing and all that... Now, he does get some astounding transformations. I won't argue with that. But you'll recall that at least 80% of your results are diet, and he's REALLY extreme there. His diet will drop fat off of you at an incredible rate, but I hesitate to tell people to eat like that because the more rigid and extreme people are with their eating, the fatter they're likely to get when they stop. He doesn't set you up with good, realistic, maintainable habits. He's basically giving you a crash diet. It's kind of a controlled crash, but still, those things tend to end in a pile of candy wrappers and empty ice cream cartons. I wouldn't necessarily try to discourage anybody who's excited about his program though. First, because people don't react well to someone bursting their bubble or talking bad about their plans, and second because the fast initial results can give some people a serious mental boost. I would support her efforts any way you can. You can always steer her toward Body for Life once the novelty wears off and the going gets tough. That way you'll be the beacon of hope and not the big bubble-burster. :-) On 5/31/05, a <bahdee4lyf@...> wrote: > Does anyone have any opinions (good, bad, etc) on the Thurmond > 6 week Body makeover...I have been living the BFL lifestyle for over a > year (lost and maintained, not super buff, but satisfied) but > my " mother in law " has around umm, maybe 60-70 lbs to lose and is just > starting that program...i read over it and it was quite restrictive, > absolutely no dairy, no simple carbs (of course) but you can eat white > sticky rice??? the exercise frowns upon intense training and says 45 > minutes at target heart rate is the best (of walking, while focusing > seriously on breathing patterns and sculpting with a body band??? > the program says high intensity work outs burn sugar not fat?? ugh > any inputs on this program? > should i get her on BFL stat?? > > > > > > >
Guest guest
If it were me, I'd present her with info on both and let her make up her mind. I have a friend at work who is doing the LA Weight loss - spending HUGE sums of money and losing a ton of weight. She isn't exercising and will no doubt re-bound and gain even more weight back. I don't push, but I show her my muscles and telll her about my progress, but that's all you can do - people have to figure it out for themselves. a wrote: > Does anyone have any opinions (good, bad, etc) on the Thurmond > 6 week Body makeover...I have been living the BFL lifestyle for over a > year (lost and maintained, not super buff, but satisfied) but > my " mother in law " has around umm, maybe 60-70 lbs to lose and is just > starting that program...i read over it and it was quite restrictive, > absolutely no dairy, no simple carbs (of course) but you can eat white > sticky rice??? the exercise frowns upon intense training and says 45 > minutes at target heart rate is the best (of walking, while focusing > seriously on breathing patterns and sculpting with a body band??? > the program says high intensity work outs burn sugar not fat?? ugh > any inputs on this program? > should i get her on BFL stat?? > > > > ------------------------------------------------------------------------ >

Guest guest
Thank God...I'm so sick of watching people get sliced and diced all in the name of fitness. They fed them little boxed nutrisytem food, and call it Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner...Like they are gonna always eat like that. I feel like slamming a BFL book up side there wrapped up head, and say.. " Get a Life " . Man, sometimes I can be so crude...I'm just so sick of shows that glorify getting cut up. If they are not shown how to keep up their new found bodies...They are just gonna have stretch makes from the newly tighten skin.... ~ " Aimee M. Rasch " <fuzzyelf@...> wrote: Hoorah! Guest guest
Hi Kathelee, On the subject of echinacea and goldenseal vs beta glucan. They are really very different products. Echinacea is a nice blood cleaner and it does stimulate the immune system but on a scale of 1-10 it is about a 2-4 (depending on the quality of the individual product) compared to beta glucan which would be a ten on a scale of 1-10. And lab tests would agree with that. Beta glucan is the most potent immune stimulant so far known to man. And goldenseal is an awesome natural anti viral, bacterial and fungal, so it can relieve your immune system a a litte. It is wonderful for eye infections, wounds, candida and many things but it should not be taken for more than two weeks. Most people don't know this. If you take it too long you will begin to taste a metalic taste in your mouth. It can be toxic to the liver if taken too long. I have met a few of these people. The beta glucan is a pure immune stimulant and can be taken long term. Hope some of that helps. Is she following the plan and sticking to it? If so, I might just be there for support right now. But if she is asking questions and not sure, then I would steer her to BFL. Guest guest
Hi , My only advice would be to tell your daughter that you will not listen to the OCD when she tells you what to do. Otherwise, you will be enabling her and her OCD. You have to say that you understand that she's upset because of the OCD monster and you want to help her fight it and boss it back. Guest guest
Hi , Hope today is going better for you and your daughter. Sounds like she was just plain exhausted from everything, and then things can get out of control quickly. All I can offer is what has worked for us. My daughter was always so even-tempered, gentle, loving. When OCD was at its worst, I rarely saw that child. Luckily she never hurt herself or any of us, but I was afraid of that at times. Whether she wanted me there or not, I would just lock her in a bear hug and talk as soothingly as possible (wow, was that hard as she's screaming I HATE YOU in my face) and ride it out. Because of her " normal " personality, it didn't last too long, maybe 3 minutes at the most. Then she'd just be so worn out, and would let me comfort her with kisses, massages, whatever helped. Her therapist recommended " deep breath in, deep breath out " , which we'd do together, since I needed some calming, too! As soon as she calmed down, she'd always say she didn't mean to be that way, that she loved me (thank goodness). Oh, and another thing we still do often is have a " re-do " . We don't dwell on an " episode " , just say it's that OCD bully, and we shake hands and agree to the re-do, that is, starting all over and forgetting about it. I always reinforce with her that most of the time she does such a great job beating that OCD, and it's so hard, so it's understandable that sometimes she slips up. I never penalized for it, either (like taking a sticker away). Don't feel bad if YOU slip up, as well, I've needed many re-do's for my behaviors, too! She always forgives me (I can get VERY angry at the OCD bully, too). One night out of frustration I hit her bedroom door with an open hand so hard (paid for it for a week afterwards, too). The next morning I apologized, and she looked at me with her big eyes and said, " well, it's good you didn't hit ME, Mommy! " Geesh, like I'd ever do that - it sure made me re-evaluate my reactions, though. (As an aside, I forgot to mention that she's never shown any of these behaviors at school, only at home, I've never figured out if that's a good or bad thing!) Hope you have a relatively stress-free weekend... nna. > Ok..we are new to ocd. We are about to months into it. My daughter has > had a couple of awesome days.
