I am also leaving for vacation in a few days and am starting the challenge when I get back after the Christmas weekend. I tend to be a bit of a planner, which sometimes delays me ever starting anything. Other things I can be very spontaneous about. I have been trying to turn The Challenge into something I am just going to start, whether my weights are all correctly stacked and organized or not! Good luck on the Challenge, Annie! I know you can do it!

Guest guest
Meg, my boys get a lot of mystery fevers....... fewer now that they are on IVIG...but they still get them. Guest guest
Meg - Macey would do this when she was younger (around 4 or 5) and at the same time she was also having some off and on problems with joint aches and fatigue. They worked her up for JRA and MS but nothing turned up. Some symptoms of each but nothing conclusive. She took Naproxen for about a year and by 8 yrs old she was pretty clear of the low fevers. She still has some joint/fatigue issues but no low grade fevers. Then again at 10 yrs old she's not as underfoot so I'm not as apt to check the temp. Guest guest
Mystery Fevers is what we called them, too. Rebekah was 2 and seemed to cycle through fevers every 4 days or so. Some would last a few hours. Some would hang on for days. Almost never was there any other symptom, except very red cheeks. I have no clue what it means, but since she began treatment, we haven't seen them. Pam mom to 4 Rebekah, 6, CVID and ?? question Hi! I have a question for all of you. Have any of your kids gotten a fever (100-101+ F), out of nowhere, have it hang around for a short time (anywhere from a day or two to 2 weeks), then go away with no other obvious symptoms? Annie does this on a " regular " basis, but I haven't tracked when all she's done it the last 2+ years. Yesterday, she did something REALLY wierd, and i was sorta wigging out. She got home from school and had her snack. I looked at her and she was flushed, feverish, and said she was really cold, wrapped up in her blanket and was really lethargic. Got a second wind about an hour later, played like crazy with her 14yo brother, then just before dinner, the same thing happened again, but this time, she could barely keep her eyes open. She is my party animal, and is ALWAYS the last one to go to sleep at night. She was out cold in about 5 minutes tops last night, earlier than school bedtime. She seemed fine today, but would get flushed every once in a while, slow down for a bit (wrap up on the couch or something like that), then get back to playing. I am just wondering if anyone has had these mystery fevers before. Thanks for the input! Meg This forum is open to parents and caregivers of children diagnosed with a Primary Immune Deficiency. Guest guest
Meg: I would probably be a little concerned, considering she's becoming " lethargic " during these episodes. The ped always said it wasn't so much the fever but the behavior that is concerning -- if a kid has a fever but is playing like normal, you can feel relatively confident it's nothing bad. Maybe run her over for a finger stick CBC during an episode? has had lower grade fevers that we didn't really officially figure out, but I've always chalked them up to some random virus that didn't have many obvious symptoms. But they were not over 101 or anything. She will often get low grade fever, be low-energy and have what look like vesicles on the roof of her mouth, but apparently these are a type of swollen gland (according to MY doc, an adult doc), NOT blisters. They go away within a few days. I personally had a FUO situation (fever of unknown origin) many many years ago. I was as high as 102.5 with NO other symptoms... my doc checked me for everything under the sun including some exotic stuff because I had been in Jamaica during the prior year. NOTHING. This lasted a couple years! Just random, here and there. Finally my dentist found a " pocket " (they never used the term abscess but I wonder) up in my gums above a previous (almost 20 yrs previous) root canal job. When I had that thing taken out (it was like a sac with stuff in it, it showed up on dental x-ray), my fevers were gone for good. Just wanted to mention that for everyone to store away mentally! (mom to , age 6-1/2, dairy intolerant-related GERD -- currently has polysaccharide antibody def, previously had transient IgG, IgA, t-cell & other defs... and also to Kate, age 3!, more dairy intolerant but very healthy!) Guest guest
Hi. I am new to this group, but my 2 y/o son also gets these " mystery fevers " of 100-101 degrees, usually lasting just a few hours or so with no other symptoms. He gets IVIG infusions every 3 weeks for " undefined " Hypogammaglobulinemia and the incidence of these fevers has declined, but he does still get them occasionally. Before the infusions this was happening every 2 to 3 days(even when on antibiotics. Kris
Guest guest
Hi, Yes, my son gets these all the time. THey usually range from about 99.5-100.5. He's had them for years. Sometimes there will be some other really mild symptoms if you really look for them and other times it's just fever with no other symptoms. Mom to Grace 8 (THI, IgA def, Antigen proliferation defect, pneumococcal antibody deficiency, mild asthma, chronic constipation) Mom to Caelan 6 (IgG, IgM, IgA def, Antigen proliferation defect, pneumococcal antibody def, asthma, Eosinophilic esophagitis, severe food allergy) Mom to Ian 6/4/05 (GERD, otherwise incredibly healthy so far!) Guest guest
Wasabi is a green Japanese horseradish that you can find in the Asian section of your supermarket. It comes in a paste and powder. It¹s can be very hot so be careful with it, but it¹s really good. Guest guest
That's fine. A lot of people split it up. It definitely doesn't hurt to have your " free " food day on a day where you're also doing cardio. Dr. Singh in the States alledges that the measles alone can cause a lot of damage all by itself. question I have a friend that is worried about the MMR vaccine for her young daughter. She has had the DTP already with no trouble but she is needing advice as to which Vaccine of MMR to use which company is safer and or if they should be single injections and not 3 together. Any advice would be appreciated kind regards] Chriso
