Is anyone here using Piracetam to protect against mold neurotoxicity? Headaches? Ringing in the ears?

I have found that it seems to block most of the worst aspects of the

headaches I get from my own nightmarish mold situation. For a few

hours at least, for me.

(I still have to take it throughout the night, though, even though it

helps, if I take itr at bedtime, it doesn't work all night..only till

around 4 or 5 am.. and then the mold wakes me up again. But it has

helped a lot. YES, I DO NEED TO MOVE... )

Does anyone else have the same result from it?

Piracetam is so effective and so cheap these days, it seems like a no

brainer. It also has been used for something like 30 years for age

related cognitive decline, and its safety is well proven. The only

reason you dont see it being sold more widely is because its so cheap

the drug companies dont see money in it.. it being off its patent

now..

It clearly improves long term memory. Its works via a

still-not-completely understood GABA-nergic mechanism. Aniracetam is

more powerful, but it only lasts around 2-3 hours..

Piracetam, aniracetam and the other 'racetams' have been used to block

neural cell death in many other kinds of neurotoxicity situations as

well. But I haven't seen any studies on its use on mold..

Do a search on Medline at

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/query.fcgi for 'piracetam' perhaps

with 'neuroprotection' etc. to see about the other stuff, tho.. Theres

a lot there..

It helps for me.. anyway, Doesn't get rid of it, but it clearly helps

quite a bit...
