Guest guest
I would find a 2nd opinion. We have had to do this with our kid more than 1 occasion, W MN <iamlaurasmith@...> wrote: OK, the frustration level is through the roof right now. When he was in the hospital in April they even did a EEG that came back normal. We saw our pedi's partner last week and he found fluid in his left sinus, but no infection, so he sent us to an ENT. The ENT did a very brief examination and found nothing. Even told us he doesn't have ETD. He suggested that we see the neuro again because is having migraines(even though the neur said he doesn't have them.) The neuro can't get him in until Jan 15th. No one can find anything wrong and everyone is passing the buck to another. What do I do? Any ideas? He is not hurting right now, but the weather is supposed to change on Thurs and I know he will be hurting. --------------------------------- Never miss a thing. Make your homepage. Guest guest
Sound like their is some kind of nerve damage that cold weather triggers. I know my husband complains that his ears hurt really bad when it is cold. His turn red and he almost looks like he wants to cry. He says it has been that way since he was a kid. I wonder if a pain specialist might be able to help. One at a Pediatric hospital. I do not know how you find someone like that. Where do you live? Guest guest
I would call the big childrens Hospital I do not know if that is in Birmingham or where but call and find out if they have a Pain specialist for kids. Sometimes kids have a great deal of pain and it may be a Neuro but just find out Sometimes it is an anesthesiologist. But they are out there. Someone needs to find out where it is coming from before they can determine what to do about it. ? how about TMJ? Or how are his teeth? Guest guest
I am no expert on this but, my mom and I both have migranes. My mom has had them since she was 9. We both get migraines when the weather changes. We have been told that it has to do with the Barometric pressure. Not sure if this helps. This is just my experience. I feel for him. Migraines can be very awful. I usually need complete darkness and some crackers and 7-up to ward of nasuea. A cold washrag for his forhead may also help. <iamlaurasmith@...> wrote: OK, the frustration level is through the roof right now. Here's the background: (age 11) has Selective IgG Def. Guest guest
Looking for some ideas for activities to celebrate World Down Syndrome Day (3/21) at our local school. My son who has Down syndrome is in 6th grade, so I'd like to also do something specifically for that age group. Just want to bring more awareness and info to the students (and staff). If you have some creative suggestions, I'd appreciate it! Thanks, Jill Mom to Lydia (19), Isaac (13) and Charlie (1.5)
