When my father-in-law had creosote smell on walls around his chimney

after a flu fire, he was told to paint the stains and walls with

alumimum paint to seal in the odor. Hey, it worked! Hope this helps.

Should we remove the planks? Seal them with AFM Hard Seal sealant?

Cover them with heavy foil and foil tape? All of the above? Is it

even possible to get rid of the odor and use these closets? Thanks

in advance. I will be unable to check e-mail for 3 days.

I had to remove cedar smells from all the closets in our houses (hubby had

house built with cedar drawers instead of a normal dresser.

First sprayed a couple of times with a liquid zeolite spray, that helped.

Coasted 3 times with AFM safe coat and at that point was able to tolerate

the drawers.

While painting the cedar wood with a sealant should encapsulate the

odor I'd try using the new light bulb mentioned here several months

ago.. The OzoneLite does remove odors of all types from closets as

witnessed by several of our list members. They can be purchased at

www.ozonelite.com

As a result of the favorable reports here I've purchased several and

have them working in our laundry room and bedroom closet.

While the bulb acts like an ozone emitter in destroying odors it

does not produce ozone.

How can the Ozonelite work like an ozone emitter to destroy odors and not

produce ozone?
