Guest guest
A rant disguised as a question: We received a marriage proposal in a fax today. Actually it was an innocuous invitation to join a national PPO sent to us " because members/payors have reported using our services " . In the old days, a business had to be wined and dined to take a cut in compensation in exchange for xyz; and the xyz had better be a promise of much more business (unless your clinic is across the street from Intel or Boeing and the MCO is their insurance carrier.) Read down in the contract and it mentions that payment for services will be 75% of the total billed charges.Do we operate at a profit margin which makes it valuable to take such a hit? As would say, " Do we even know? " What does TRPN do for this discount? It appears that they are a clearing house for managed care. If they can get us to take a 25% hit, then they can split the savings with the insurance carrier. Makes sense. Billions of cents. A miracle is to find a way to insert ourselves between a much needed and repeat business product or service (gasoline, health care, garbage collection) and the payers for that service. Then getting the providers to take a discount and splitting that discount with those receiving the services we'd get rich! And we wouldn't even be doing anything worthwhile! We'd be a tapeworm in the bowl of society! Warm and well fed. Then I looked on the provider list and there are about 200 chiropractors in Oregon on the panel. Must be a good deal. ( E. Guest guest
Watch your MVC EOBs, TRPN has made its way into Safeco's little inner circle of friends. We do not belong to TRPN but Safeco has used them to cut services and straightening out the mess has been ridiculous (as is anything with Safeco). , DC, DABCO > > A rant disguised as a question: > > We received a marriage proposal in a fax today. > Actually it was an innocuous invitation to join a national PPO sent to us > " because members/payors have reported using our services " . > > In the old days, a business had to be wined and dined to take a cut in > compensation in exchange for xyz; and the xyz had better be a promise of > much more business (unless your clinic is across the street from Intel or > Boeing and the MCO is their insurance carrier.) > > Read down in the contract and it mentions that payment for services will be > 75% of the total billed charges.Do we operate at a profit margin which makes > it valuable to take such a hit?
