FYI [aca-hod] Three Senators - Presidential PoliticsHOD members,ACA and you have more to be concerned about than choosing a President during the Presidential Caucuses and Primary's.Two of the remaining Three Sitting US Senators (All have votes and unfulfilled terms) have written Chiropractic position Letters/Papers.One has not - McCain. Not more than one of these three will become President and the other two along with the two that have dropped out will not only be in the Senate this year but, will most likely fulfill their terms and remain. Those four Senators remaining in the Senate may have more impact on the content of any Health Care Bill reaching the Presidents Desk than the President. All of the Senators running for President are important to Chiropractic. Don't Poke any of them with a stick in the eye, we will need their support and vote in the Senate this year and beyond.Appreciate and mention both to Clinton and Obama their own Position letters to them personally and to their staff.Ask them to autograph their position letter, thereby drawing it to their attention and increasing its value. If they never see it from us or are thanked, then why will they remember it as being of value either to them or to us.Know that there is a difference, including value, in getting first person letters to a specific person than general position letters and statements. "First Person" letters have taken more time and require a higher level of scruitiny and approval of the signatory. I have experienced the process since 1999 and have experienced the difference.Strive to get Senator McCain to author a positive Chiropractic position letter, since he'lll either be in the Senate or the President.Understand that this is not only about choosing a President and certainly not about our partisan sparing about any of the Senators with voices or their votes in the Senate.Don't spend our time arguing about who's best for Chiropractic or the Country. I have views on both and you may or not agree with mine - this is not the point of my writing this message to you.You Can Make Chiropractic Visable through your Appreciation regardless of how you expect to vote.Do Reinforce and advance Chiropractic whatever your personal view of these individual; sitting, speaking and voting U.S. Senators, since all three of those remaining in the Presidential Race Will have a voice and vote or Signature in our Profession's Future. Not every one of our Members of Congres began in office supporting chiropractic issues with their votes. I know about the path to two Senators who now support chiropractic. Now, What to Do:Copy the existing Presidential Candidate Position Letters and seek to get them in front of them and obtain their autograph on it.Make them and their Campaign Staff aware of chiropractic in the fabric of the voting public by you presence in your State.Don't argue with them regarding "Hot Button issues" .Do, Appreciate and be gracious as if passing our legislation depended on their vote next week.Thank You.Dow_______________________________________________ACA-HOD mailing listACA-HOD@...http://ww3.chirolists.com/mailman/listinfo/aca-hodNeed to know the score, the latest news, or you need your HotmailĀ®-get your "fix".
