Guest guest
I know for sure my apartment has been making me sick. I am much less reactive now that I am staying at my mom's for 2 weeks. The reduced reactivity was immediately apparent. I can't live there anymore but I can't afford to move, as I have been unable work due to the MCS symptoms. I have renter's insurance which supposedly covers mold. Anyone have any advice on how to determine what legal recourse I have, best way to proceed, etc? I have called 2 firms in NYC but they did not get back to me yet and I have to return to my apt in a few days. I am so nervous to go back. I cannot wear any of my clothes and cannot tolerate bedding or the heat. I just cannot survive on the floor in the cold much more nights. I am almost done getting the SHoemaker testing and hopefully will start appropriate treatment in a few weeks. Is it safe to stay in my apartment if I start CSM treatment? Will it help with MCS symptoms so at least I can use a blanket and won't freeze every night?? Any advice? Please email me backchannel. Thanks!! I mooched couch-time from friends, and kept moving in rotation so as not to " wear out my welcome " until I recovered enough to be functional and found a place that was tolerable. -
Guest guest
you really don't realize how bad it is because it happens over along time. Our son had his done by Dr Rice feb.09 last year . .may 08 he started thowing up lost 50 lbs had feeding tube for 7mo before we got to Dr Rice he told us then it didn't happen over night if it wasn't for the feeding tube his would have Been holding food to. Which is not good since surgery he regained his life got his black belt mixed Martial arts. Don't wait till you can't do the myotomy. We just got back from Cleveland 2 weeks ago 1 year check up barium swallow emptied in little over 2 min great since he couldn't drink water year ago would recommend Dr Rice and not to wait Sent from my Verizon Wireless BlackBerry Need advice on how to proceed Got to speak with rice today. Didn't let me get a word in edgewise. My les resting pressure is on avg 20 mm hg. Anything bellow 30 mm hg is a predictor for a failed myotomy according to a study I read. Rice thinks the study was trash. Ok, well, it still was a study. Rice thinks I need the myotomy asap. I can wait till the fall. No guarantees it will work. I am taking the chance of speeding up my journey to an ectomy if it fails and rice doesn't seem to care or he thinks there is no choice. He said I am at risk for aspiration because he had to lavage food out of my esophagus even after all the fasting I did -24hrs. So he thinks the myotomy can save my esophagus and buy me 20 years of life before ectomy. He said he will do his personal best and I will be a patient for life.....yes we have heard this all before. He is not listening to me and my description on my quality of life. He wants my E to empty faster and feels a myotomy may help me. I am so torn. I hope you all understand my dilemma. I have heard the stories of people going for the myotomy, it failing, and then going for ectomy the following year. If I did nothing I could maybe wait 5 years for an ectomy. He thinks I am crazy to take that route. Opinions?
Guest guest
http://www.surgjournal.com/article/S0039-6060(09)00472-3/abstract Check out this study by dr. L. He is one of the best and states that these 4 things are good predictors of a successful myotomy 1) high resting pressure of the les 2) no prior surgeries 3) short duration of disease 4) absence of sigmoid esophagus Well I HAVE all 4. Wow, can we say the odds are against me that this operation will work? I am looking at a total esophagectomy sooner than I thought. But rice is scaring me that I can't just do nothing. He says I am a time Bomb. Not sure why he says that when he gives his ectomy patients several years to wait before they decide to have it. I need to email dr. L..... > > Got to speak with rice today.
