Guest guest
Mold moves state transportation workers out of traffic center By S. Duncan http://www.macon.com/mld/macon/13183776.htm TELEGRAPH STAFF WRITER Posted on Wed, Nov. 16, 2005 Macon,GA Georgia Department of Transportation workers have been temporarily moved out of the Macon-Bibb County Traffic Center while mold is being cleaned off the walls there, although county employees remain in the building, said Presley, DOT engineer. Black mold residue covers large portions of the inside walls at the traffic center, where it was caused by air conditioning problems. But it is being removed with a bleach solution, then sealed before rewallpapering, said Nigel Floyd, traffic signal engineer. After an " emergency " called meeting at 12:45 p.m., which was closed to the public due to " potential litigation, " Bibb County Attorney Virgil said he " could neither confirm nor deny " whether there are any problems with mold at the traffic center or whether the meeting related to the mold. County commissioners refused to say anything about the subject of the meeting and took no action in public session.
