The provincial division of occupational health and safety instructed the province months ago to deal with the problem but nothing has been done, NAPE says. Hundreds of people pass through the building each day. NAPE representative Henley says the province apparently has one standard of health and safety for the public, and another for its own employees. The Department of Transportation and Works is responsible for the cleanup. Transportation Minister Tom Rideout says the department has asked for an extension of the order so a consultant can review the matter further.
