Guest guest
Ditto. I love the mattress topper over a firm mattress. I love the fact that it keeps you warmer. The gel one is too cold for me. It depends on patient tolerance whether they like being warm/cold. The smell of the tempur pedic was horrible and I had to air my topper out for 30 days in a spare room with the windows open. Minga Guerrero DC In a message dated 1/8/2008 4:51:50 P.M. Guest guest
Of the patients who report having the Tempur-pedic mattresses, most have a positive response. A few have complained that they are warm to sleep on perhaps because of the insulation effect. The few who didn't like them know almost immediately that it is not for them. The great news is that they have a significant guarantee so folks can try them for at least 30 days. There are two firmnesses with the thicker mattress being more firm. One patient has a " knock off " Tempur-Pedic and he says it is like sleeping on a cloud. Hope this helps. Larry L. Guest guest
I had a memory foam topper myself, and it was very comfortable but the underlying mattress was a taco so I awoke with back pain. The topper is only as good as the foundation (kind of like the best adjustment doesn’t last if the posture is bad J ) From: [mailto: ] On Behalf Of sean robins Sent: Tuesday, January 08, 2008 4:51 PM Seitz Cc: Subject: Re: Mattress's I have the memory foam topper which I purchased at Costco for a little over a hundred bucks. Guest guest
Charlie et al: There is only one mattress to get, in my opinion. And that's the I-Sleep System (www.isleep.com). It's like the Select Comfort Sleep Number Bed, but it also has individually-controlled graduated heat from the feet to the head...which is great this time of year. And it's not conducted through wires underneath you, for obvious health reasons, but through a non-electrical conductive material that is heated via an element located at the foot of the bed. They have a DVD you can hand out to your patients that is narrated by Rob , D.C., which covers all of the research that went into it by The Sleep Institute. We've had ours for two years now and wouldn't trade it for the world. They have a 30-day money-back guarantee, and free delivery and white-glove set-up service through Sunshine Delivery in Portland, which I believe is a Bekins affiliate. The Queen System is about $2,300 and the California King is $2,700. Call 1-800-219-3151 and request a doctor packet. Lyndon McGill, D.C.
