They blame mold at her school, Jasper Middle. " Our daughter- we've had her back and forth to pediatrician in Chattanooga and local doctors as well, since school began, " explains Lebron. So we spoke to the superintendent of n County. Doctor Fred admits part of the school's roof leaked inside, but nothing he believes would make people sick. " I'm not saying there aren't individual children that might have some effect from something. But we're not aware of anything on any magnitude that would cause us to do anything different from what we're doing. And that is to get it corrected as soon as we possibly can. " But just in case, says he's made another call. " We do have a person coming tomorrow for the Tennessee Department of Environmental Services to look to see if there's anything else that he recommends we do until we get the new roof on. " That's not enough for the Coffelts. worked at the school last year. She says it's more widespread and mold can be found everywhere. She took pictures showing damage to walls and pipes. Lebron adds he's seen it. " Water is on the floor. There are buckets set out in places to catch the water. That just gives the habitat for molds, bacteria and other things to develop. " says the problem comes from having facilities more than 50 years-old. " We're like any other system. We have ongoing issues with our facilities that we deal with every day. " The n County school board meets tonight. They plan to pick a contractor to fix the roof. The Coffelts plan to attend to tell the board their concerns.
