Guest guest
THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! More time messing around with my sis's new computer too, before she takes it back to her workplace! House update: My writing desk is up! Our common wardrobe is up! I am just hoping that they will install the partition wall in my room, the 'castle' cupboard for my tv, players, etc. and altar, then we can move in first! Just in case I had not mentioned before, we had hacked off the common wall of 2 bedrooms, so that we have an enlarged single bedroom to be shared with my 2 sisters......... Sigh, they just refused to let me have one room to myself, so this is the solution. Coming soon will be our fight to the allocation of wardrobe and cupboard space..... Guest guest
Hi Helen, Sorry to hear about the headaches...... take care! Hope you had not done anything to worsen them? As for myself, I am real busy with shifting things to and fro from old house, now am in the middle of a flare up of headaches again, I guess. Short physiotherapy update - the therapist tried to check my strength by asking me to lift up a 6 pound dumbbell/weight, asking me to lift it all the way up, straigthening my arms. I kind of did it, but very shakily, and the therapist had her arms around the weight, worried that I would just drop the weight in front of her. She seemed horrified that I was not able to lift up the weight, so she started me on this gym in the rehab centre where I go everyweek, and she would be next to me guiding me. Have not got my teaching cert yet. Results of the exam will only be out in June. Will be reporting to the school I am posted to for teaching coming Friday though. Please send my regards to your stepmum, hope she will feel much better real soon! You take care too, ok? {{{ Headache free hugs }}}} Ling Re: I'm Okay - Helen Well CONGRATULATIONS !!! Honestly, it never occurred to me that my arms are so weak until that day when the physiotherapist assessed me. Now I see her for exercise sessions every week. Guest guest
Hi Ling! Do you ever have pain in your shoulders, down your arms, or numbness or tingling in any fingers? Ever had an MRI of your neck? I ask because sometimes you can have a nerve entrapment cause this. All the nerves & vessels pass thru a very small opening in the shoulder girdle to your arms. When you lift your arm, it can pinch or cut off, if there is inflammation, and a nerve or vessel is swollen/enlarged. Can come from a bulging disk in your neck. You can actually track it by which fingers are affected, if it is a nerve. I had horrible migraines for years, then weak arms, then sore shoulder- couldnt lift my arm very high without a lot of pain. I had cortisone shots in the shoulder, immobilized, they thought it was a torn rotator cuff, bursitis, tendonitis, lupus related(cause it would come & go)............ Finally got an MRI, and it was a bad disk. He said the nerve was huge, from probably years of impingement. Any exercise, like physical therapy, work, made it worse. Cant imagine what moving could do! Or writing on the chalkboard. Just had to mention the possibility, it took me years to figure it out, and I knew this stuff. How's it going? Love, > How's the court issue? Guest guest
Hi , Please forgive me for my very slow reply. Been really very busy lately. You asked me about any pain in my shoulders or fingers... no, I had not experienced that. But lots of aches there though. Had an MRI of my neck about 3 years ago.... showed a bulging disk in my cervical spine, and was diagnosed with cervical spondylosis. My previous pain doc did explain that my headaches could be due to a pinched nerve. Thanks so much for sharing with me your experience..... that does sound quite similar to mine. How have you been? Ling <<Hi Ling! Do you ever have pain in your shoulders, down your arms, or numbness or tingling in any fingers? Ever had an MRI of your neck? Guest guest
Hi Ling, hope you are feeling better. I got an over the door neck traction thing- a hanging machine. It really does help. Still have to use it once in a while. an inversion table is much more comfortable, but very hard to find. I have seen a homemade one, but no luck here yet. Tried upside down on the ironing board, on the stairs, but kept sliding down. My headaches would subside as soon as the pressure was off. I used to ask my hubby to pull my head off, and that helps too, as long as he was pulling up on it. I really had a bad time after riding in boats- the bouncing I guess. Hope you can find some relief. And dont let them hurt you at PT. Take it easy. Love, > Hi , > > Please forgive me for my very slow reply. Guest guest
Hi , I often feel bad when I engage in lots of activity too, especially after running, taking a bus ride, I guess that is due to the bouncing too. However, the doc did try to see if traction works for me, but it did not seem to...I'm very glad it does for you! Sometimes I kind of give up trying to find a way to stop those headaches. Take care, Ling Re: I'm Okay - Helen > Hi Ling, hope you are feeling better. > I got an over the door neck traction thing- a hanging machine. It > really does help.
