Guest guest
nne Thank you for your support. I know what you mean about choosing when to stop having children. I had my second daughter at age 36 and had decided if I didn't get pregnant by 36 I wasn't going to try any more. Everybody is different and can handle kids at later ages but it's so hard these days when the women most likely have to continue working, etc. Jeanine and ... I am *so* incredibly sorry for what you and your families are going through right now. I will definitely send prayers your way tonight before I head to bed. , congratulations on your daughter's second pregnancy ~ but I hope that everything will be just fine and that her little one will be born healthy. I'll hold good thoughts. Your daughter is the same age that I am! We aren't sure whether we want to try for a third child or not. I don't think that I would want to have a baby past the age of 35 (just my own personal feeling). We'll just have to see what the future holds. Jeanine, what is wrong with your husband (if you don't mind me asking)? I am *so* very sorry about your sister. How old is she? I pray that she will continue to receive good care from the doctors and will have lots of strength and faith during this awful time. ~nne http://bathtubjunki <http://bathtubjunkie.net/> e.net/
Guest guest
I know what you mean....don't blink too long or you'll miss them grow up. I can't believe your daughter is 18 months old. I know I go " missing-in-action " on this list sometimes but that seems impossible!! M. ... I cannot *believe* that your granddaughter will be five years old in August. I remember when you told us that your daughter was pregnant! Seems like it was just a little while ago! Time FLIES!!! Of course, Lucas turned three at the end of March, and Meredith will be 18 months old soon. I don't know how that happened! ~nne [blog] http://bathtubjunki <http://bathtubjunkie.net/> e.net/
Guest guest
The soaps you made sounds real cute. It sounds like you put a lot of work into them doing the embeds. Since this woman needs 80 - 100 bars, I don't think she's looking for too large of a bar. I already have some molds: an oval with a large stork on top. It's a 4-1/2 oz size so I made a sample up but didn't fill it to the top. I believe it will be about a 3 oz bar. I have a (2) rectangular molds that says " It's a Boy " on it. I didn't fill that one up completely either to try to get a 2 oz bar. You can't do the words in a different color, though. So if she's happy with just a solid color that one may be fine. I have a 3 cavity mold of baby booties that I tried making a smaller bar, too. I also found I had little 1 oz ducks. Hopefully she'll like one of my molds and I won't have to purchase something new, although I always get the urge to look to see what's new out there. I have no idea what she's willing to spend but sometimes people forget about the labor plus the packaging that's involved. My daughter is working in a new hair salon that just opened in town and I know the owner. I was in there today and she said I could set up a small display selling my soaps and putting samples out for wedding & baby showers. So I've got to start working on that, too. Especially with Mother's Day coming....I need to act fast!! Thanks for your links and suggestions. I had already made a note to myself last night regarding the one at W.S.P. just in case she liked that one. RE: Need some assistance Hi again, ! >>Has anybody got any favorites that they've purchased or seen online that can pass some websites along to me that I may not have seen yet?<< A long time ago (in 2001, I believe), I made cute baby shower soap favors for a friend of mine who had a girl. They were 4-oz. soaps in the shape of clouds, and I embedded a smaller soap inside (maybe 1 or 2 oz.?) colored pink that said, " It's a girl. " The soaps were such a huge hit! I wrapped them in plastic wrap and tied them with pink ribbon, along with a label on the back. I believe that I purchased the cloud/ " It's a girl " molds from Chase (here's the link: http://app.vendio. <http://app.vendio.com/storefront?mode=1 & view=HOME & sfUrl=chase & foo=0.845 50985> com/storefront?mode=1 & view=HOME & sfUrl=chase & foo=0.84550985 17040733). They're pretty big soaps, though. These heart-shaped soaps from Wholesale Supplies Plus are *really* cute: http://www.wholesal <http://www.wholesalesuppliesplus.com/ProductDetail.aspx?ProductID=6089. > esuppliesplus.com/ProductDetail.aspx?ProductID=6089. The only thing is, the mold is two cavities (because you wouldn't be using the " It's a Girl " cavity) ~ so you might have to order a couple of the molds in order to save time making so many soaps! But this mold makes 2-oz. bars. This one from Chase is cute, but it's a *huge* soap ~ 7 oz.! Here's the link anyway: http://app.vendio. <http://app.vendio.com/storefront?view=ITEM_DETAIL & lid=14605870 & cid=9384 06 & mo> com/storefront?view=ITEM_DETAIL & lid=14605870 & cid=938406 & mo de=1 There are some cute molds here: http://www.soapandc <http://www.soapandcandlemolds.com/babyshower.asp> andlemolds.com/babyshower.asp Oh, I think that soap confetti (in various shades of blue) would be *so* much fun as part of a baby shower favor! ~nne [blog] http://bathtubjunki <http://bathtubjunkie.net/> e.net/
Guest guest
Gee, I'm glad that it's working for you. Did you just leave the liquid laundry soap in the bucket that you made it in? How do you know how much to use per load? I know what you mean about going down the soap aisle at the store. I just can't believe some of the prices on them. I tend to buy the cheaper brands that run about $4 for the large container. But if the homemade stuff works good maybe I'll try a batch and give some to my daughter since she has more laundry to do than I do since she has a 4 yr old . If I can save her some major money then it will be worth it. RE: nne () Well, I've done several loads of dishes and laundry now, and I can tell you that the homemade detergents are working just GREAT!!! I'm *so* psyched. The liquid laundry soap didn't take a full 24 hours to gel up. And in fact, this evening when I went down to put some things through the wash, I noticed that it looked a little watery. But I'm sure that it's still just fine. I just love the way that the laundry looks and smells when it comes out. Now if I could only figure out how to make my own dryer sheets! LOL! I was so happy today when I ran to the grocery store to pick up a few things and wandered down the laundry/dishwashing aisle ... knowing that I didn't need to buy ANY of that! hehe I stirred it with a huge wooden spoon. Yes, it is quite a lot. Oh, and you know how steam comes out of the dishwasher toward the end, as the dishes are drying? There's the faint smell of lime in the air in our kitchen when our dishwasher does that because I added lime essential oil to the dishwasher detergent! So that's nice! I think the real test of the laundry soap will be the load of whites that I have going right now. Plus, we have a white down comforter that needs to be laundered. ~nne [blog] http://bathtubjunki <http://bathtubjunkie.net/> e.net/
Guest guest
The website where I got the recipe says to use 1/2 C of the homemade laundry detergent ~ maybe more if you have a super soiled load. So that's what I've been using ~ maybe a little less, actually. We have one of those high-efficiency washers. Yes, I just left it in the bucket that I stirred it in. ~nne
