I'm posting the following message from Benson, D.C. (retired) in

Bend, regarding an antique adjusting table he wants to sell.

Lyndon McGill, D.C.

Salem, Oregon

Hey Dr Lyndon,

Happy Saturday !!!!!!

Do you know any DC's who may be interested in owning/displaying a vintage Chiropractic Adjusting Table?

I purchased it almost 30 years ago & it's been in storage all this time. As depicted in the picture below the table does not have a split-headpiece, measures 70" long, 15" wide and 20" high. The Brown 'head-piece' slides forward longitudinally creating an open space between the two cushions of 20 inches (lookout Lumbars)!!! I believe it is solid oak, because it is quite heavy...

There is also a lever at the 'foot end' which the Dr can release, allowing the 'head-end' of the table to tilt downward => the front legs then fold up & the entire table tilts on the center legs, bringing the patients head halfway to the floor... Incredibly clever construction... And what a unique part of American ( & Chiropractic) history!!!

I would like to see it go to a 'good home' & would love to see the table displayed in someone's office. The 'DC Museums' seem to have little interest because of shipping costs + owning lots of old tables already...

I'd be grateful if you'd forward this to anyone you think may be interested. I'd accept $500 for this classic piece, particularly from someone who appreciates Chiropractic & it's very rich History...

All the best, 541-389-4523
