Guest guest
Dear Sirs, I am concerned about the lack of protection the american public is recieving from the government and from the medical community regarding mold illness. As I have read recently, governors around the country are allowed to move into a safe home while the public mansions are having mold removed. This is a good thing. So why is there all this mis-information put out by certain doctors in the medical community saying that mold is not harmful to health? I was nearly dying from a fungal infection that no doctors in Minnesota could identify, blaming me instead for being hysterical. Thank God I found a doctor in Wisconsin that is not wearing the blinders, and knew what had incapacitated me, and also how to cure me. I had not heard of mold illness, or toxic mold or anything before I was diagnosed with a fungal illness, and put on antifungals. The State Medical Board needs to answer for this oversight in treating the average person. Many people are suffering needlessly, undiagnosed, because of a prejudicial attitude by the medical professionals here in Minnesota. It is a travesty that with all the money spent on medicine in this state, that this is occuring. The so called " science " that is backing up the claims of these doctors is biased. I have done some of my own looking on PubMed (gov't database of medical abstracts), and the results show unequivocally that fungal illness are both extant and very serious. This may become the most important public health issue of the century, especially if it is swept under the rug by people with vested interests; like insurance companies, not wanting to pay out, and construction companies, whose methods and materials are flawed and promote the very thing we want to avoid (mold growth). The sooner this is recognised and dealt with in a health protecting way, the sooner people's health will be regain, and a disaster may yet be averted. I am also thinking of the children that are going to be taken back into the disaster areas of the hurricane, and how sick they will become from the mold that is now growing everywhere down in the flood damaged areas. I thank you for taking the time to read my concerns.
