Sweatin' with the Moldies

That Scientology detox was primarily intended for drugs and alcohol - LSD, in

particular if I remember. I have no idea what they do with it these days,

though. I've known a couple of people who did it. One, a hardcore alcoholic, had

absolutely incredible success with it. Went from a drunked out slug who was

impossible to deal with back into a brilliant and energic person in mere weeks.

Amazing transformation, really. Another caveat is that a lot of physical

exercise is (was?) required - not such a hot idea, for some of us. Lots of

niacin and sweating. I guess it still depends on what toxins you're going after

and what you can tolerate as treatment.

Native people here have done sweat lodges (wet heat) for as long as anyone can

remember, but the idea has always been geared toward a spiritual cleansing as

much as a physical cleansing. It's a great experience, but Native people aren't

particularly any healthier than other people, physically. Less so, in a lot of

ways. There are special problems to deal with that whites don't have nearly as

much, like TB, alcoholism, depression, and diabetes. I'm not saying it isn't a

good thing to do. It just isn't a panacea and doesn't appear to have any effect

whatsoever at controlling illnesses caused by genetic predispositions - unless

it works a whole lot better on white people than it does on red people. Most of

the Native people I've known live in the same kinds of dwellings as the rest of

us, eat prepared foods, live in cities much of their lives - pretty much all the

same, except for the gene pools we came from.

Like KC mentioned, some of us sweat profusely from the illness itself

(hypothalmus is pretty wrecked). Throughout the time I was being heavily exposed

and well before that, I was very physically active maybe 15-20 hours every week

and had every legitimate reason to sweat. As I got sicker, I would sweat for no

reason at all, sitting or lying perfectly still. I would sometimes break into a

sweat 50-60 times a day - enough to make you want to shower and change clothes,

for sure. Enough for it to be dripping from my chin and my hair to be wet

(typical stuff for moldies, as it turns out). So it seems a bit of a puzzle.

Sweating buckets from exercise didn't keep me well. Sweating buckets as a direct

result of the illness once I got sick didn't make me well, either.

But it probably goes back the difference between toxins again. These

particular toxins are attracted to fat cells. So I could probably sweat every

ounce of fluid from my body, and the mycotoxins toxins would still remain.

Whatever we sweat out, it isn't fat. The general sweating has improved some

since I've been in treatment. So the irony, to me, is that I mark improvement

partly by how much _less_ I sweat - not how much more. If sweating alone was

the best detox for this, then trust me - I wouldn't have toxin one left in here

by now! It's never been measured, but it wouldn't surprise me if I've sweated

out my entire body weight several times over by now. Low ADH keeps me drinking

about 2 gallons of liquid every day as well, so that's what? around 15 pounds a

day or so? I'm kind of a walking seive - or a walking filter, depending on how

you want to look at it.

Heh - I just re-read this. I've led a strange and varied life so far...I used

to be a person. Now I'm a kitchen utensil. I hope this story has a nice ending

like Herman Hesse's " Siddartha " . I sure would hate to get to the end of the ride

and realize I've just been wandering around doing stupid random stuff all these

years for no good reason at all. ; )

There is no such thing as an anomaly. Recheck your original premise.
