Guest guest
Dear Doctors: I have an arbitration coming up in 2 weeks. I have client who is 64 years old (at the time of the MVC about 61 y/o). I would like to present an article to the arbitrator which shows that it takes longer for an elderly person to make a full recovery (not the commonly cited 3 months) and that it is not uncommon for the person to have residuals two years after completing treatment and requiring chiropractic wellness care after completing the treatment. Injuries neck and back. Back injury made full recovery continues to have issues with his neck injury. The impact of the collision was strong. One of the issues I face is the possibility that my client’s job may be aggravating and/or causing the present need for chiropractic treatment, etc. His chiropractor (located in WA state) does not want to address this issue because he claims he is not certain if it is the MVC residuals, the job he does, or a combination of both. If my client’s case has to go to trial then I will fully address this. My client works 7 days a week for Boeing. He is an electrician. He is required to bend his neck back and look up for hours throughout the day. My client works 5 days 8 hour shift and 2 days 10 hour shift. Client claims that prior to the MVC did not have neck problems and did not need to seek chiropractic care on a monthly basis. Prior to the MVC, my client sought chiropractor treatment once in a while. Now, if he does not go at least once a month he feels that his neck locks up and it causes stiffness in his neck. A.
