Guest guest
I haven't read this book, but the info looked interesting, so I thought I'd pass it on... __________________________________________________ Patriccia Kane, PhD is finding that she is getting great results using phospholipids therapy. Phospholipids are the fats that make up our cell membranes. Her theory is that it is dysfunctional cell membranes that is causing the problem- if the cell membrane isn't fluid enough then the toxins get stuck on the surface of the cell and can cause the same problems that Shoemaker see's. Her therapy is different for each individual but consists of a fatty acid profile test of the RBC's (only done at s Hopkins) which reveals the fat imbalance of that patient. She treats with phosphatidylcholine IV and oral supps, glutathione fast push IV. Her main point is that people with CFIDS type symptoms (and many other chronic diseases) are actually omega 6 deficient (not omega 3!!!) and need to supplement with the right kind of oils. These are Evening Primrose Oil, Walnut Oil (the two best) and some other grain oils (which are not as good as they get oxidized easier). Kane's theory is pretty consistent with Shoemaker's but looks at the `why' of the cellular dysfunction. Do a search under Detoxx and you will find her site. I bought the Detoxx book, written for MD's and it is very interesting. If you have a bit of a science background, the reading isn't heavy. Serena There is no such thing as an anomaly. Guest guest
Hey Serena, So would explain why digestive enzymes such as Pancrease or Creon are thought to be important while ridding the body of mold/toxins? Sharon

If Kane's theory is based upon idiopathic dysfunctional cell membranes while Shoemakers concepts are analyzing RNA dysregulation of cellular function dictated by genetic factors/toxin interactions, I'd venture to say that Shoemaker is looking much deeper into the 'why'. -
Guest guest
Several people here knew my friend Trish who recently died from a brain tumor. Before that she had CFS for 24 years. she drove across country and did the Kane protocol. before cancer, and it didn't help. I know of no one else who has said it helped.
