Thanks for asking, Kimi. For those unaware, the swap is taking place

2 weeks from today, Saturday April 7th, from 11am - 2:30pm. Setup

begins at 10:30am. I just realized it's the day before Easter so that

may crimp some people's plans... We will have a speaker at 1pm on

homeopathy, and then start packing it up at 2:30 and be cleared out by 3.

What I need:

* Someone to volunteer to order extra milk for the swap. This could

double as a potluck contribution if someone is pressed for time and

can't make a dish of some kind. PLEASE let me know if this is what

you want to do, so we don't end up with 10 gallons of milk from 5

different people. :o)

* Someones to bring beverages of some kind. Water, coffee, kombucha,

or other lactofermented beverages are all fine.

* Name tags and markers for writing names.

* Potluck dishes of all kinds. Tables, outlets and such are

available, so I'm told.

I am not sure how much I have left over in terms of tablecloths, cups,

napkins and cutlery, so I will have to look.

----> Speaking of which, I think we should all get in the habit of

bringing reusable plates and silverware so that we cut down on the

amount of waste. I usually do much of the garbage cleanup after one

of our events and it's not pretty, the amount we throw away each time!

As for cost, there is no admission fee to get into the building, but

the cost for us to use the place is $75 (which is being taken care of).

The Farm is NOT OFFICIALLY OPEN FOR TOURS, but we can wander around

and look. There is a small bookstore in the building we'll be in,

that has some literature and publications of interest to trad foods

people.

It would be helpful and much appreciated if people attending could

chip in a few dollars to the donation bucket to offset minor costs

like disposable tablecloths, napkins, signs for directions, printing

costs of flyers, etc. All that stuff comes out of my own pocket.

Please bring money to support the farmers and artisans and vendors who

are coming to join us. I am anticipating eggs, chickens, fermented

goods, honey, and so on. Clean them out and send them home with

nothing but cash!

I¹m not sure if I can make it that day, but I remember last year people

saying it might be fun to do a heritage seed exchange for gardens.

Hi Katy,

I am not that proficient with the computer so I do not know how to get all the

info to you. Below is some information and a phone number you can call to talk

to Joe who usually is the one who does this. I will send you another e-mail

that will give you further info. Thanks for you interest. Jane Frieler

over again ooowwwing and aaahhhhing at everything, your all so

talented! Thank-you whoever put the paper cutter in the Yankee Swap,

it is really cool, I can even buy more blades for it to cut other

shapes.I was wanting to buy one for the longest time.I just really

felt bad taking it away and giving back my really nice gift of soaps.

I sat there thinking " No I don't want to " but I could really use it,

so I did it!......I'm sorry. I know it's all in the game but I've

never been good at games.Thank-you Shaye for the neat goodie bag and

all the door prizes, WOW!

ACTUALLY Gabby, it was me, C. who took the cutter from you

originally, and Susie M. who then stole it from me leaving me with my

own box back! LOL!!! What fun! It all worked out in the end and Katy &

I swapped boxes. And Susie M.....it's probably a good thing you took the

cutter as I don't know where I would have stored it in this house!!
