Guest guest
Hi, It's me again. I forgot to ask--could some of you soapmakers out there give me the name of some of your favorite suppliers of oils, herbs, and essential oils? I need some suppliers that have nice quality products without charging an arm and a leg (I am willing to pay good money for a good product, however!) Thanks again! Hi Jane, There's New Directions Aromatics, which is headquartered in Australia. I've ordered from their store here in Canada, and their prices are very good. Guest guest
Wow. Sorry folks. My line of thought was focused on availability, quality, and value of suppiers. At the time it didn't enter my mind that I was selling something. I will review the posting policies as I see one of the links I posted has been deleted. Guest guest
At 07:18 PM 12/4/2006, you wrote: A poster on the perfume of life forum just reported he got some linden blossom in frac coconut that smells cucumbery and floral. Janita, what color is your stuff? Just to compare with what he got. Here's what he says: They're fascinating, but not what I'd expected. Linden is a gorgeous, springlike floral perfume with decided green tinge to it. It reminds me of some candles I'd smelled in the 1970's. Though I haven't been there, Berlin's shopping district is called the Kürfürstendamm, and its street-- its " Champs-Élysées " , if you will-- is called «Unter Den Linden»... " Under the Linden Trees " . I can see how this effusive, brilliant green/floral flower would cause hearts to soar in the Berlin springtime. Then after I wrote about how it could be bunk, he replied: >The label sez: 10% Linden Blossom Absolute, >Flowers, France, Solvent-extracted, diluted in fractionated coconut oil. > >You know, this fragrance smells VERY much like >what they used to call " cucumber " in the >1970's... in those hand-molded ball-soaps and >candles in those hippy-dippy shops... Anya here again: There is no way the very expensive LBA could have been used in soaps and candles in hippy-dippy shops or in candles. The LBA FO has been used for so many years, so ubiquitously, that many just think that's the real deal, or the cucumbery scent is so inviting, it all blends in their noses and minds. He's in Europe, and I'm wondering if he purchased it at the same place as Janita. I've written him privately, let's see if he replies. Email and digest folks will get it and Janita is getting spanked for writing me privately at the group addy, hence my TP'ing and replying to her with the bunko artist's name, thinking I was sending it to her private email.
