No Barb, don't do that, It would be very dusty, I did that in a porch

in the first home I had mold. Just put on a pan of water to simmer

on the stove for a little humidy until you get a new humidifier.

Thanks . I set it up for the day anyway but indoor air smelled

like laundry/chlorine bleach smell so that is another drawback. barb
