Bob,

I meant to ask same question but you live in TX right? That's not

too bad. I live in OH. I would catch pneumonia. Anyway you guys, I

bet if you put a powerful fresh air intake and outlet you could

breath fresh air indoors too. However if I lived in a warmer state,

AND I was a GUY, I would consider it but being a woman I wouldn't

feel safe. In my next life, I want to come back as a guy. You have

so much more freedom.

Bob, Are you living

in a tent? Loni

>

> Yes, I have for all except one month since discovering mold

under my home about 3-4 months ago. It is not bad except early on it

was hot and now it gets very cold here at night. I have two electric

heaters but my tent is 17' x 9'. I hate sleeping blankets but better

than being cold. I would recommend staying in one if your house is

making you ill. I have MCS and was first concerned about maybe some

chemicals coming from the tent but I have had two and no chemical

odors. Wal-Mart has them for under $100. Feel free to back-channel

me if anyone wants more info.

Hah! Sure do!

I actually tried that fresh air supply from outdoors concept seven

years ago and was dismayed and amazed when it so totally didn't

work.

It was only then that I went to the desert to " get clear " and then

returned to test the exterior of my moldy house WITHOUT GOING

INSIDE, and found that I was being " plumed " from a sewer vent that

wasn't even on my property and that there was absolutely nothing I

could possibly do the make the area liveable.

I could burn the house completely, bulldoze the ground, and

sterilize the property with Napalm and it wouldn't have done one

damn bit of good.

Yes it was a bitch to be forced to run for my life.

But having done so, I've been climbing mountains and controlling my

symptoms ever since, and so I can't complain.

It has just been amazing to identify people with similar mold

reactivity and explain that avoidance has to be commensurate with

their own individual level of reactivity, only to find that people

would rather stay and suffer, even though it means diminished

capacity and prolonged suffering, and in some cases - death.

For a lot of people, " tenting it " is a fate worse than death.

For others, feeling good is paramount and we call this horrific

strategy: " fun " .

My wife and I still are unable to use the heater in our apartment so we use

electric heaters and a small electric heating pad in our bed down by our

feet - set on low - and that keeps us toasty warm and its cheaper and not as

'uncontrollable' as an electric blanket..

Also, unrelated.. I have a question for the veterans here.. Strangely, the

recent rains have cut down some of our mold (the mold in our front room) a

lot.. Is this normal?

Okay, I see your point. In my case, I think it was areas in my house

and not the area. In fact I'm sure of that.

On the other point, I think camping out is fun also.

This might work if you are not in a contaminated house or room,

otherwise no amount of ventilation will help.

Yes, I would have camped out if I had been a guy- that is when I

feel the best, but friends decks and porches is the closest I can

get to it.

I did tent during the summer, part of the time, and of course felt better. But I

need to

supervise the work on this house, and guess what- it was a ridiculous 8 degrees

above

zero this morning. It is insane even to live in this climate- even worse when

you consider

that one really is trapped, TRAPPED, by the weather.

There are some hardy souls who do camp in this weather, but you have to stay

awake and

keep moving your fingers to make sure they are still there. I think they are

crazy, too, but

hey. I really hate being so far from my beloved mountains, and what is, in my

humble

opinion, a normal life.

I am really happy you can go climb them, I love hearing about it and them.

I guess you could say I choose to stay, but it doesn't feel like a choice to me.

It is simply a

necessity for the time being, to get this place cleaned up as much as it is

capable (the

point being debatable, as the entire neighborhood was contaminated when they

tore down

the old grain silos a block away), and then fleeing for warmer climes where I

can do what I

really like (hiking, camping, being warm). This thought will get me through the

winter, I

hope.

PS- You and your recovery is inspiring. Thanks for being here.

Bob, Good for you. How do you feel now. Are you healing? I went to Mexico for 1

week in our RV & felt so much better. Like I was reborn almost. I went back to

Arizona & back to work & they poisoned me with their bleach for remediation;

gases from it I think. I have been really sick ever since. I wish I could just

live in Mexico near the beach-it is so healthy being by the water. Air was so

fresh. I did think about staying in my RV but in our neighborhood with

association you can only have it there for 48 hours & that's it.

So are going to try Tucson do you think? How do you use your computer? Is it a

labtop running from batteries? Are you going to remediate your home & go back?

Hope I don't ask too many questions? I know I always do!? Ha Loni

when I came here in the fall I started feeling better on the fourth day. It

has been different this time. The wind blows a lot here and very hard at times.

Hasn't rained in several months and dust is blowing. I can sweep out my tent and

an hour later it needs it again. Suppose to get down to 15 degrees on Wednesday.

If I return to my mobile home, I will order more of the ozone lite bulbs to

try and a vacuum cleaner using the HEPA filter. I want to put my personal things

in storage and put it up for sale. I can use the money to buy a travel trailer

and try the mold avoidance. I just remembered that when I was here before

it was a two-room tent and I did not enter my bedroom until after shower at

night. This is a larger tent, 17' X 9' but just one room so it is possible that

I have containimated it.

I have always felt good when in Mexico. I do not remember seeing RV parks

there Loni? There is a place not too far from here on the ocean named Puerto

Penasco. I did not know if being on the ocean would make it more moldy? The best

my son who has CFS has felt was when he was at sea for six months but that was

in a steel warship and probably not much, if any mold. Does ocean salt water

breed mold.

I don't think it is moldy at the ocean Bob. But it is water sooo?. I went to

Rocky Point which is Puerto Penasco. I just know that the fresh air & the

negative ions coming off the ocean did alot for the way I felt. There is an RV

park there called the REEF & we get right in the first row ocean front. Loni
