Guest guest
Ugh! I hate that. Our animals were doing well until we cared for our neighbor's dog for two weeks. She had fleas, and soon all of ours did, too. It took a couple months to get rid of them. Guest guest
I know. The Vet said we should be OK after the Advantage - that’s six months worth. Guest guest
Morning Jeanine, next time you need to get that stuf, check out Petmeds.com. Generally less expensive than the vet and free shipping. I had to give the kitten advantage but I have several months worth of program I was giving Rocky but I was not 100% happy with that stuf but they said I can actually do both but not much point to that I guess. But anyway I was going to give him a dose of advantage in a couple weeks cuz I had JUST given him his Program at the time because I knew she had come to our house with fleas. So anyway I was going to order but them I found I did have three tubes of advantage for his size. All this stuf is too expensive but it does work. Things never did get out of control so that's good. They are not going to be outdoor cats, not with the fox population out back. You should see these two. They are already starting to sleep together. Too cute. At first the kitten was hissy to him, now she adores him. I thought the process would take longer. She discovered she loves to play in the bathtub and jumps in befor your getting out of the shower. Guest guest
Morning Shaye, I do have enough to last until June or July. Hopefully the problem will be gone by then. But, if one of my kids or grandkids can bring in a visitor I may have to continue the treatments. Nothing is ever easy…LOL. Do I need a written script for Petmeds? I’m glad your kitties are getting along. A few years back we had two kitties that absolutely would have nothing to do with one another. They were funny to watch. If one jumped on ’s lap the other would try to get on the chair behind his head. Then the spitting and snarling would begin until one of them gave up. If one was on the bed the other wouldn’t even come into the bedroom. Cats surely do have their own agendas. Guest guest
You don't need a Rx, just order. They sure do have their personalities. Poor must have been scared being in the middle of snarling cats! Lol Shaye RE: Re: Kitty pix uploaded Morning Jeanine, next time you need to get that stuf, check out Petmeds.com. Guest guest
Wow, those are big kitties! I'm surprised he recommended wet food. I'd always heard dried food was better. Cats are less likely to overeat than dogs, but when given the Mickey Dee's of catfood, well, I guess that can change things, eh? My cats are adults, one is almost 8, and the other is 16, and have been to the vet each once or twice for anything other than their yearly checkups. They're in and out cats, too. I would have preferred they were indoor, but they insisted on outdoor, and with 6 kids and a dog going in and out, keeping them in would have been impossible. I tried. Anyway, they eat only dried food, Purina, no less. I didn't know any better back when, and I thought about switching, but decided not to try since they've done so well. Guest guest
Yes, especially when one weighs 23 ½ and the other 17 pounds, a good thing they are declawed …LOL The vet suggested a diet. I couldn’t stop laughing. He said to stop the dry Iam’s and the ½ can of fancy feast (that’s cat’s Mc s according to the vet) and just feed them wet food - 1 ½ cans for the fat one at breakfast and then 1 can at supper. And 1 can at breakfast and supper for Teddy, the thinner one. I know what would happen, Freddie would gobble his food and then attack Teddy and cry all day because the dry munchies are gone. A friend of ours mixed green beans with the canned food and his cat finally started to eat that mix and lost weight. I’ll have to think about this.
