You need and the patient must take the next step and that is to report this occurrence by the employer. I and the profession simply must have you and more importantly the injured worker file a complaint with the Investigations and Sanctions Unit Compliance Section of the Workers' Comp Division otherwise it's all for not. I simply must have documentation the more the better of this BS steering of injured workers by employers to the Occ Med Centers prior to the start of the 2009 Oregon Legislative Session....I need hard copy examples to validate the problem truly does exist for injured workers which the employers and the carriers are denying is happening which is of course...oh... ya... more BS! I'm ready, willing, and very able to battle these S.O.B.s but I need your help...so...follow through and phone and write a formal complaint to:

Ms. Leah Bingham (investigator)

Investigations and Sanctions Unit

Compliance Section

Dept. of Consumer and Business Services

Workers' Compensation Division

350 Winter Street NE, RM 27

Salem, Oregon 97309-0405

Phone 503-947-7685

, you and the patient/injured worker call Leah first then follow up with a brief (as in it don't have to be "War and Piece") letter/complaint to her as well and send/fax a copy to me for my file....fax... 541-928-2742

BTW....DO YOU STILL HAVE A COPY OF THAT BRIGHT GREEN CARD WITH LEAH BINGHAM'S CONTACT INFO ON IT????

Thanks....and to the continued good fight....as in....help me kick some serious ass next legislative session!!!!!!!!

WC patient steering

Verne-

Had a new WC patient today. Employer (Rosewood Specialty Care) did steer patient to Cascade Occupational Clinic in Hillsboro. Employer did not give patient options. Physician seen ( Walters, MD) stated “chiropractic care doesn’t help, it just makes you feel better for a short while”. Patient was referred on to PT. Pt. chose to return to me (had seen me 3 years ago while in high school) after mother told her she “could go where she wants to.”

In this office, we've had a w/c case come AFTER the IME trashed her. She was told not to make a claim, not to see a doctor and then fired when she did. And interestingly enough, the day after she and I met and began 'change of physician' maneuvers, her attorney closed the case! Go figure.

Ms. Bingham answers her own phone and is very interested in these types of cases. Call her.

Thanks Vern, for finding this conduit.
