Guest guest
Well, still have the X Ray just to make sure and try to get your doctor to try you on the CSM. Do you live close enough to go see Dr. Shoemaker? If not, try to get your doctor to order the lab tests. As Sue said, you can find the list in Mold Warriors. She has had very good success with this and is very good at getting the word out. I just wanted you to make sure that there wasn't something else going on too. That happened to me and it's taken me a long time to get diagnosed. kathy princess bride <herbivoresf@...> wrote: She just couldn't think of any other specialist who would have anything to do with mold??? Guest guest
Environmental and Occupational doctors deal with mold issues.. At least that is what I have heard.. (no first hand experience, tho) On 12/2/05, Kathy <kathywnb@...> wrote: > > Well, still have the X Ray just to make sure and try to get your doctor to > try you on the CSM. Guest guest
I would still have the chest Xray and possibly the CT scan. When mine first started, I wasn't coughing or having any breathing problems, just the fatigue, flu-like symptoms, etc. etc. Then when I took an antibiotic for a sinus infection, I started coughing up small amounts of dark brown mucus and then it progressed from there. I was diagnosed with a small area of bronchiectais on the first CT scan and it showed an area of possible fibrosis. (Thinking back, I believe it was dried blood from the effect of the toxins. But then I stayed in the building for several years after that not knowing what was making me sick. Maybe if I had left then, CSM might have been all that I needed to get rid of the toxins and I would have gotten well. I'll never know) If these check out OK, and you aren't able to go see Dr. Shoemaker, then you might ask your doctor to let you try the CSM and order at least some of the lab tests that are listed in Mold Warriors. Sue and others have had great success with this and she is great at getting the word out. If you can't get all of the tests done, then these are probably some of the important ones: C3a, C4a, CRP (C-reactive protein), MMP-9, which are markers of inflammation. The tests for C3a and C4a can be sent to National Jewish Medical Center Complement lab. They could probably tell your doctor their significance. The tube containing the C4a has to be immediately frozen and shipped by dry ice to the lab because it can activate invitro (in the tube). I think most labs could do the CRP and MMP-9. MSH, leptin, VEGF, erythropoeitin, and the HLA genotype are also significant, but may be harder to get done and interpreted without actually seeing Dr. Shoemaker. Even my allergist/immunologist didn't know the significane of these, but is willing to learn, I hope. If I've left out any, someone else can add. I've done some research on the C4a and it has been linked to chronic fatigue syndrome and some other nonspecific inflammatory conditons. I just wanted people to make sure there isn't something else going on too. This happened to me and it's taken me a long time to get diagnosed. princess bride <herbivoresf@...> wrote: She just couldn't think of any other specialist who would have anything to do with mold??? Guest guest
I never coughed, despite lots of breathing problems, and pain in my lungs, both lower, deep pain that pulls on my back, and higher irritaion of throat and upper respiratory- this lack of a cough left some friends believing " it was all in my head " > > She just couldn't think of any other specialist who > would have anything to do with mold??? > > Harriet > > > > __________________________________ > Start your day with - Make it your home page! > http://www./r/hs >
