Guest guest
Does anyone have news stories or documents regarding sick environments and problem pregnancies? How about...newborn babies that have unexplained illnesses that mirror SBS and the mom is sick from sitting in a sick environment while pregnant? Thanks for your help. J. It does not require a majority to prevail, but rather an irate, tireless minority keen to set brush fires in people's minds. -- --------------------------------- Find Great Deals on Holiday Gifts at
Guest guest
I am very sorry to hear that Janet. A girl who worked for me (in the sick building) had five miscarriages in a two year period of time. She is diabetic and has since been diagnosed with SBS as well...double whammy. She was able to stay pregnant while home on maternity leave after adopting a baby. Both of her daughters share the exact same birthdate, one year apart. I had a very difficult pregnancy with my last two babies and the youngest has been simply plagued with one illness after another. The girl who worked for me...her youngest daughter has been quite ill since she was born too. I believe there is a link between the building and the sick kids that were exposed in-utero. Are you doing better now? J. Gingersnap1964@... wrote: I had a miscarriage working in a moldy government basement. I blame the mold as I was always sick. Guest guest
We have no proof but several girls at work lost their pregnancies and have since left that worksite. I do believe it was caused by the building. They were young healthy girls too before they started working there. Guest guest
Several mycotoxins, like Ochratoxin A, for example, are 'teratogenic' - they cause birth defects. Many are also carcinogenic, which means that they cause cancer, which sometimes can take several years to become manifest. This isn't some kind of theory, the literature on this is solid and goes back to the 30s. Get any book on mycotoxins, and look those two phrases up. Ergot alkaloids also are known to cause miscarriages.. There is no reason why a child can't get SBS, and many reasons why they might. In partucular, fast growing cells in the body are suceptible to toxic substances. With children, safe environments are even more important than they are with adults. Thats why safe schools are so important. Infants have been known to die suddenly from stachybotrys exposure.. for example.
