Guest guest
Harriett- I have never had problems with cholestramine- except stirring it- better to start with warm water- remember to take one half hr before meals- it never gave me any heartburn, and I just added some more fruit to my diet to compensate for the clogging affect- a nurse told me I would need to be on it for years- but after feeling better,a few months, I backed off to 3x a day- and now am at 2x a day > > Hi. Guest guest
Harriet, I took CSM 4X a day right from the beginning and never missed a dose. Be sure to drink a cup of water after taking it and throughout the day. I had a little heartburn at first & I took an antiacid that Dr. Shoemaker gave me. I can't seem to recall the name of it, maybe someone else will know. The CSM also made me constipated so I took (and still do) 's Milk of Magnesia every night before bed followed by a cup of water. Any other medication you have to take should be at least 1 hr. after taking the CSM. You can eat a half hr. after taking the CSM or take it 1 hr. after eating. I many times got up in the middle of the night and took it, that way it didn't interfere with anything! I mix mine up in the little sippy cups that kids use but remove the straws. It's also very easy to take along with you if you go out, take the CSM in one and water in another throw them in a lunch tote and you're ready to go. Hope that helps some!! Guest guest
Harriet, I forgot to ask if you have read Mold Warriors? It will explain a lot of things and you could let your Dr. read it.
Guest guest
You can get Prilosec OTC. But check with your doctor first, as proton pump inhibitors might block some of the positive effects of the CSM.
